For more context, Rudy locked himself up for a month without food, and just barely drinking water, he was gonna die if he kept this up. Keep in mind that they needed him to get back to normal because Rudy's the only one that knows the incantations for the teleporation circle and he's also the only one that can disperse the sandstorm that they've passed the first time they travelled through the desert. They've literally tried everything to help him but nothing was working so Elinalise and Geese suggested for someone to have sex with him, slightly hinting at Roxy that she should be the one to do it. Oh yeah and Roxy was obviously also opposed to the idea since she just found out that Rudy was already married and even regretted making moves on him. (I wish they atleast said how long he locked himself in his room for because the anime made it look it happened immediately. The only indicator that some time has passed was how hollow his faced looked which not everyone might notice on a first watch). Some things were also changed in the light novel where in the anime Roxy was the one that pulled him back while in the light novel she actually gave up and was gonna leave but Rudy was the one that pulled her back and even said that he was "rough on her", he essentially took out all of his frustrations on her. The anime kinda did Roxy dirty by making it look like it's all her fault when it's both of theirs (since Rudy is a horny motherfucker). Also, before anyone says anything, I obviously wish he didn't cheat and stayed faithful to Slyphie. Anyways, loved your reaction guys!

The Anime doesnt convey this, but Roxy pretty much saved rudies life. He was hold up in his room for a many many days, (i think it was a few weeks), not eating, barely drinking. He was withering away, replaying that moment of his pauls death over and over again. No one could get him to do anything no matter how much they tried. Finally one day Geese brings up that when men are like this, sex can bring them out of it, they all agreed but since sylphie wasnt there and they didnt think rudy would feel good about sleeping with a random person in a brothel, they tried to get Enelise to sleep with him but she refused since hes married to her granddaughter. They kept pleading with her to do it to save rudy. They even suggested that Lilia do it, but that got shot down right away. Roxy after much thought decided that if it would save rudy then she would do it. (Also she wasnt aggressive about it like the anime portrays it.) Also Enelise lies at the bonfire and tells rudy that since him and roxy slept together almost 2 months ago, roxy hasnt had her period. Thats the focal point of all this and its what really pushes rudy to try to make roxy his wife. He really didnt want to betray sylphie, and wasnt going to marry roxy. But if she was going to give birth to his child then he was going to take responsibility for it. Anyways, i just wish the anime went deeper into both of these things cuz it kinda seemed like she forced herself onto him for almost no reason, and he wants to marry roxy purely out of selfishness.

In the novel, Roxy didn't "comfort" Rudeus like that. She starts going on about how they could "do it" and then starts suggesting that maybe her body isn't "adequate" enough for him and he caves, and according to his narration, violently pushes her onto the bed (granted he has hardly been eating for like 2 weeks after seeing Zenith's condition) and then goes at it, saying that he basically took his frustration out on her. Then, after waking up, he thinks to himself how the fuck he's supposed to explain the situation to Sylphy. The anime changed it so that it seems like Roxy was the only active one in the situation.

In the anime they skipped certain explanations abouts Roxy's actions. In the novel they were afraid of Rudy dieying in the come back trip, they needed to get him in a less depress mood. When a soldier returns of a battle field or an adventurer experiments the dead of a party member the status quo in that world is to get the adventurer to sleep with a woman. In the novel they even think about Elinalise for the job but she refuses cause Cliff, that was where Roxy came in to account.

Yes, if you swap the gender it get really bad. I think the big difference is the physical strength, Rudy could push Roxy and get out of the situation easily. She is like 40 kg. In the other way around is not true. She did something really wrong, because of his mental state, but Rudy permitted in some way. If he had said something against the act, I would be here canceling Roxy 😂. Mens need to be more clear and get proper consent and not abuse situations, because we are stronger, scarier, likely to be more violent, testosterone effects. So ye, we are not judged the same way, but it makes sense to me. I remembered one time when I raised my voice a little in an argument with a young woman and she started crying, like a kid, I got really surprised, but for her I was scary. The "weird question" he asked was about a story of a man _who totally isn't him_ who'd ruined his relationship with his parents in the past and had lost them, the man didn't mourn for them and was driven away, he found a new life in a new land and things were looking up for him, but he made a mistake that got someone hurt and only now he's started mourning his previous parents. He asked her what this man should do. 9:06 You better write that prediction of yours down. 9:34 Ladies and gentlemen, the MVP has entered the story: Dillo the armadillo! 14:05 Eris is Rudeus' second cousin. She's distant enough so his instinct doesn't prevent him from being attracted to her. Remember that blonde knight from the OVA whom Eris saved? That's Rudeus' aunt and in the book she helped them get passage from the Millis Continent to the Central Continent, but not before hugging the shit out of him. Rudeus was left confused why he's not reacting to his tall, buxom, blonde beauty hugging him so enthusiastically. Elinalise has known Roxy longer than she's known Sylphie, and Roxy was a pet project of hers for all that time, trying to introduce the woman to romance. She'd even repeatedly insinuated she'd get together with her student. Migurd and elves live a long time, so that might've been a factor in it, since a human would grow into an adult soon enough, as Rudeus had just six years after TP1. Polygamy seems to be the norm in the setting, with Millis standing out by demanding monogamy. Zenith compromised on her religion by allowing Paul to take Lilia as his second wife, since she ultimately didn't want to break the family apart. Paul's prestige in the house did fall significantly, but ultimately he was forgiven. Rudeus had promised fidelity and repeatedly stated that since the idea of Sylphie getting with another man would destroy him, he wouldn't do the same to her. But Sylphie has met more members of Rudeus' bloodline than Rudeus has and they're all womanizers. The setting doesn't have mental health as a science and the only professions that relate to it are barkeeps, priests and prostitutes. The party was having a discussion as to what to do with Rudeus. They floated the usual plan of getting him to a brothel to vent, but a random girl wouldn't do it for him. Elinalise was asked if she'd help since it's her specialty, but her relationship with him precludes it, which is how Roxy learned Rudeus was married. The others concluded he'll pick himself up eventually and they'll leave the city. Roxy knew better that he wouldn't be able to get out of the hole he's in, so she took matters into her own hands. But what got him up and about wasn't the sex. That was just a reset button, but the talk afterwards was what duct taped him back together so he can get home for proper healing.

This episode just skipped too much from LN to actually make it make more sense. In here Roxy just looks like an asshole predator and Rudeus like he didn't care enough. They prob did the best they could, but still could definitely have been done better. "Without the context of "Roxy has already tried to claw Rudeus out of depression every day for over a month," the scene makes zero sense. Without the scene of Elinelise giving her the idea of sex as a last resort to jumpstart any kind of emotional response from Rudeus, the scene makes even less sense. By not showing Roxy understands his current family situation, the context of sacrificing herself and her virginity just as a desperate prayer to help him is criminal. From her perspective, she had no hope of reciprocation and was willing to put how this might hurt her aside; without showing this she comes off as painfully tactless and boneheadedly selfish. She put her needs aside to save the person who saved her. Instead? It looks like she's taking advantage of someone vulnerable to help herself." - Taken from another comment There's so much more than this too. On the context of making Roxy his wife, Elinalise actually lied to Rudeus and said Roxy is pregnant, to force Rudeus take responsability and marry her. She also said she would even think on sleeping with Rudeus to try to make him better, which is when Roxy took action first.

I don't know what was going through Bind's head in this episode. - Rush was depressed, they didn't even mention that Rudeus spent weeks depressed without eating. - They skipped the whole interaction between Elinalise, Geese, Talhand and Roxy and how Elinalise "gave her the idea" and also how Elinalise still hesitated to let Roxy know that Rudeus was married. - In one fell swoop we enter "THAT MOMENT" -When Elinalize was trying to convince Rudeus, they skipped the moment where he flatly refused to accept Roxy and she tricked him by telling him that Roxy was pregnant.
