Cancelled after 1 episode

I'm gonna level with you, this anime was very weird, but I kind of liked it. Had it not been cancelled this could have been a good 80s show. You can tell they had ideas for a series, but it just never materialized. The box even points to a mailing address where you could join the "twinkle heart fan club", so it's sad to see. This happened more than you would think, but at least it's been subtitled & you can watch it. Not a lot to say, just a really strange anime that could have been a lot better.

#notallvisualnovels Seriously, the Hatoful Kareshi series is really good! It was initially created as an April Fool’s Joke but was made into an actual serious game? The true ending isn’t very adaptable, though, as it relies on having knowledge from players the other routes- I suppose that they could just jump into it without explaining the background, or they could pull a genreshift or something. I haven’t played it, but Dengeki Stryker would make a great anime, I feel? I’ve only read the TV Tropes page and watched Linkara’s review, but it seems like it’d be nice to adapt? They made an American Saya no Uta comic book, so you might be able to make an anime? They should keep Saya’s original appearance, though, and have her be less of an agent- like a lot of American stuff, they desire to absolve the protagonist of most fault, making Saya more at fault (much like that girl with Light Turner) even though SHE IS BABY. She’s like less than a year old, leave the poor tentacle monster alone, get her help, get her a book on “bad touch”. Protect her. I can’t think of any others (that were originally from Japan) that look like they’d be interesting, but I am sure that they exist.

Modern anime certainly looks sleeker and more refined and tightly drawn, but the old had this expressiveness to it's animation that I don't see much of anymore. I saw it in FMA: Brotherhood but, I see it rarely today. Guess that's what happens when animators are told to draw highly precise, detailed drawings of anime girls with boob jiggle physics. Eats up their time and it becomes harder to actually make the things they're animating move in interesting ways. Not bashing new anime, and I'm not saying the old was perfect, but I did like this aspect of older anime. Just had this weird charm to it. And I could be explaining it wrong even.

Like I said, unnecessarily heavily detailed models. Also yeah, not a fan of a tight deadline. Crap has to get made, I understand, but some more time would be pogU.

@@basimaziz Yes... that unnecessary heavy detail. I love good detail, but not when it's too heavy on detail. 80's Anime had a great balance between detail and expressiveness. In some moments, they could sacrifice detail for better expression. One of reasons it's hard for me to watch new Shaman King. They do have Expressions... but those are straight from the manga, and don't feel like creators put soul in them. Old Shaman King Anime, had lots of differences from the manga, but all crazy zany expressions very so over-the top, a whole comedic filler scenes were added just for fun, i love it.

Man, I feel pretty bad that this never took off. Taking a look at the anime, it's definitely not anything super special, but there is charm in the triad personalities in the girls, and honestly, I could see something like this maturing with a young audience, and being able to slowly add more mature, and dark themes to their episodes, some parts of the OVA showed the potential for that.
