This video reveals two cancelled projects by Factor 5. The first is a Rogue Squadron Compilation with new features, including updated online multiplayer. The game was originally planned as an Xbox game, but several factors led to the game being developed for the Nintendo Wii. This Wii version had no online multiplayer, but included new modes that supported wii motion plus. The second project was Star Wars Dark Squadron. This would be a flight combat game like Rogue Squadron, but the player would take control of Darth Vader and control the imperial army. The third game discussed in this video is an action-adventure game staring Chewbacca. The game would have seen chewy as a bounty hunter, and would have took place before he became friends with Han Solo.

The Death Star was about to fire upon Yavin IV. Had Luke been killed, the moon would have exploded, so an Imperial assault on the rebel base is a silly idea.

As Fencing said, the two bonus missions are technically separate. Or you could look at it like the alternate timeline that was used in one of the Infinities comics, where the torpedo exploded close to the core but not enough to destroy the core and create a chain reaction, weakening the laser and making it ineffective.

I like to look at it as Darth Vader halting the Death Star from firing so he could single-handedly wipe out the Rebel Alliance. But the missions are probably separate timelines anyway.

It's set in an alternate timeline where they weren't planning to blow up Yavin IV. They go down to the planet to capture the rebel leaders and interrogate them into revealing where the remaining rebel outposts are. Makes sense.

I always looked at the Vader's Revenge mission as the incident between A New Hope and Empire Strikes back and part of the Timeline. To me it best explained why the Rebels after being victorious were still on the run and it made a humiliated Galactic Empire that much more menacing.

Closest you'll get, sadly, is TIE Fighter. I played the hell out of it in the 90s and have the Steam edition. In many ways (along with its sister games, X-Wing, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance), it's more challenging than the Rogue Squadron games, minus having to ever bring down walkers with anything, much less a tow cable.

TIE probably the most underrated best Star Wars game. The fact it's the first (and only) game that solely focuses on the Empire is already awesome. I wanna fly in a TIE Defender again… I would also like to see a Star Wars movie focusing on the Empire's perspective, maybe even a movie adaption of TIE Fighter, but because of Rebels and the new Rogue 1 movie, thats probably never gonna. I guess Disney only likes to focus on the "good" guys.

Rogue Leaders never seeing the light of day is genuinely painful to me (Rogue Squadron II's one of my favorite SW games ever made) but the whole White Harvest thing was just disgusting. As someone who once not got paid for what was essentially 2-3 months of work and time, I'm glad to see they had to shut down in the end.

I have done some research myself and had a little peak into the behind the scenes of Lucasarts myself, and I discovered that the Chewbacca game was known as Star Wars: Rebel Warrior and would let you have super strength and of course let you pull arms out of sockets.

Wow. This was so interesting to learn. Great video, man. I especially find it both awesome and amazing that factor 5 remained so loyal to Nintendo despite the poor sales of the Gamecube. Only choosing to move to another console when funding was finally withheld for not doing so. And then choosing to once again return to the company the moment they got a chance to. The Wii U's time is coming up, and soon the NX will be here. It would be nice if someone choose to remake the collection one final time for the NX, including all of this plus the online multi-player mode.

I would love to see him do a video on the "Highlander" game. Liam, you forgot to mention that Rogue Squadron I had a PC port called 'Rogue Squadron 3D'. which alongside 'Battle for Naboo' (set during the prequels, but considered part of the RS series) were Factor 5's only Star Wars games for PC. Also, 'Blue Harvest' is not only the 'fake' name for Return of the Jedi, it's also the name for the George Lucas endorsed Family Guy Parody of Star Wars: Episode IV - A new hope.

Having a Chewbacca action game would be awesome. You would go all the way from the late clone wars to the Force Awakens, and if people were open to the idea, you could incorporate elements of both Canon and Legends' Expanded Universe. I read a comic book where Chewbacca took down a Rancor with a giant battle axe. A game that would focus on melee almost as much as shooting would be nice, and it could explore the idea of the Space Age Barbarian class that Chewie embodies. He wouldn't be the best Tank, but he would be a fast warrior that could take a beating if he used hit and run tactics. So Chewie could use things like those Wookie wrist blades, helmets and shoulder pads with horns on them, and even some opportunities random spears and rocks as he would be strong enough to make them do dmg. Also as a wookie, you would explore how Wookie BowCasters were made to be able to attach an extra fire arm on the bottom. That would not only give rise to Fallout 4 type customization, but also Republic Commando switching gears with your weapon. If it was a fps, I would recommend a cross between Fallout 4 and Republic Commando. Perhaps some Red Faction Guerilla and a dash of Far Cry 3/Blood Dragon. It would be interesting to not only have an updated Sequel to Republic Commando, but to have Chewbacca as the main or one of the main playable characters. Another interesting aspect of this game would be that it could be 2 games at once. In the same way Halo 2 made you alternate between arbiter and chief, this one could make you alternate between Chewie's Squad of Rebel Commandos, and Delta Clones with their newly christened Imperial Death Squad.
