@Lara Gravenor I think when you are laying in a hospital bed, waiting for those kind of results, you do a lot of talking to God. Even those of us who are dubious, deep down still must have some faith that there is something better beyond this life, and we hope that God will help us on our path, which ever way it turns out. Both my parents died of lung cancer from asbestos. I miss them all the time.

Hey doll, as a cancer survivor I can tell you the loss of my hair was super traumatic. But, the loss was also the one thing I could control while everything else was falling apart! After my first chemo I had a fried who does hair replacement of all things put my long hair in small pony tails. Once I had all of these in we began to shave them off one by one! I can tell you I cried thru the whole thing! We then put them in a large envelope and donated them to an organization call children with hair loss. They make wigs for children with multi issues and they do it for free! Although it was super tough it made me feel better about this loss. I didn't have her take it totally off, but as it started to fall out I them looked like I had mange, lol. So, if ever have to do it again I will shave it totally off! With the chemo your scalp becomes very tender. I to had five chemos with each treatment, 21 days apart and it was rough! I won't tell you anything that isn't true! I can tell you to eat anytime you can for the strength. I went the night before for a nice stake. Not sure it helped, but I could taste it when everything else was like eating dirt or metal. Also, Ice cream was my friend, lol! You hang in there! Be around positive people! I also had one day each week where I didn't talk about the C word at all! I tried to get out and that day to do things that were fun and something I enjoyed. I also had 38 rounds of rads. If you burn there is an over the counter product called domboro and it was my life saving product! But, also ask your docs before using! Its a powder you put in water, dip a clean cloth and place on the burns! The pain your having could be from the shot they give you to keep up your counts. If so, make sure your taking an allergy medication it does help with that bone ache! You hang in there and sending you loads of prayers and love from Oklahoma !

You are stronger than you think. Stay strong. My wife was diagnose with breast cancer 3 years ago at age 43. She went thru all the chemo sessions, total hair loss and had double mastectomy. She went without a wig. Only weared a beanie. She was in remission for 2 and a half years and then the cancer returned in May this year. This time it manifested as bone cancer. She is getting chemo again since diagnosed in May, every two weeks. She is the strongest woman I've ever seen and I still love her to bits. Looks like we're beating it again as the cancer marker count is going down, currently at 9.2. Put up a fight and beat it!

It’s clear that Taylor was referring to Romee saving her eggs in case she decides to have children someday. That she would smile when remembering the choice to save her eggs. She doesn’t mention laughing anywhere in the comment. Why do people feel the need to attack others all the time? It’s very obvious she meant this to be uplifting and now its become something negative due to your comments. This isn’t the place for this. Having cancer is a very serious and scary thing (I also had cancer this year), so having any type of negative conversation here is highly inappropriate. I hope we can all do better next time.

You can do this! I had Hodgkin's lymphoma stage 2B, with chemo and radiotherapy as treatments. It is a bumpy ride, but there is an end to it. I chose not to wear wigs, it just did not feel like me. Instead I bought a bunch of funny caps and had fun with them. I had really supportive colleagues, and I chose to work partly, according to how my own health allowed me to. It was a way to have some kind of normal life and not be a cancer patient all the time. So hugs and good luck, take it one day at a time

Hey Romee... I’m so sorry this is happening to you. Cancer is the worse. My name is Sam and I had acute lymphocytic leukemia at a very young age, 3 years old. I went through chemo, lost all my hair, but I’m now 24 and have now been cancer free for almost 20 years. I often think about how much harder it would have been to have been diagnosed as a teen or young adult where I would have been more aware of the severity of the situation and deeply sympathize with you that at 23 it seems like your life is only just beginning. You have such a positive attitude and a love for life so I’m really hoping that your cancer respond to treatment. Hopefully by the time you are in remission and Corona is a thing of the past you can go back to living your dreams.

Her prognosis was grim, she's only late 40's and still alot of life in her, one thing when her hair started falling out, it was very hard to see and witness, but then she said it felt so much better cuz the chemo gave her headache and the wigs didn't help. She felt way better with nothing on her scalp, but a bandana. I promise it's going to be hard, but remember it's fight for your life😶🙏🙏 so hair will grow back and god is good. So sorry for your condition, keep your head up and keep fighting, you CAN beat this! My suggestion to make losing your hair less traumatic, to go ahead and have it cut off, have some stylish hats, cute head scarves and a wig that looks similar to your own hair, available before having it cut off. Trust me, it’s way less traumatizing to have it cut off then to lose it in clumps. Remind yourself , it’s just hair and It will grow back after your treatments. It will be ok!

this just popped up in my suggested videos and, while i dont have cancer, i struggled with malnourishment the past 6 years and i cant really relate to the part about hair falling out being a more external sign that youre sick. i didnt lose all of my hair, but malnutrition caused about half of my hair to fall out and i still remember the feeling of panic when it first started happening. it was like a visual reminder that was constantly like "hey!! youre sick!!! dont forget that youre sick!" and it felt like i was watching myself deteriorate. it was really scary for me so i cant imaging how much scarier it is for cancer. you seem so kind and brave and i am sending you so much love and good luck.

Liefs

My mom had chemo on Mondays and radiation 5 days a week. All for 3 months. She did not lose all her hair, maybe half. She had no sickness but had weakness. She did great and she is 74 years old. This is her second lung cancer which occurred 17 years apart. They took out a lobe of her lung the first time. She had one lymph node with the cancer in it this time. She is now in remission but will take immunotherapy treatments once a month for a year. They have come a long way with lung cancer treatments so keep your spirits high and just keep thinking and saying you will be stronger than it and beat it. May God bless you with his healing hands.

My dear girl. I was diagnosed in November of last year. My 24 yr old daughter, the first love of my life, died in a car accident in April, leaving her 19 year old sister (my second love), an only child...ugh. You have been tested my dear girl, forced to grow up way too soon, but also given the wisdom of the preciousness of life that many never realize. You can't learn it in a book, or hear it...it must be personal and relevant to the individual. I have subscribed to your channel..stay strong...you are an amazing young lady.

But you’ll be like me some day and telling someone else that YOU are cancer free! You’ll look back at these videos and wish that you could make “past you” feel better because it’s all going to be ok. I started chemo on Oct 19th and my hair is already falling out little by little so I get where you're coming from. I agree 100% stay positive, doctors expected my body to react worse than it did. This battle is more of a mental battle than anything else so dont let it get the best of you. Fight through it, have fun with it. Once it falls off grab some face paint and be creative. Stay occupied and focused! You seem strong I have no doubt this battle will be easier than you think.

We have similar stories on the sense that I was also diagnosed with cancer this year and I underwent fertility preservation as well. My first chemo was in August, initially every 2 weeks, now every week. I also had VERY long thick hair. I buzzed it off week 3 into chemo and went completely bald by week 5 (I shaved it all off) doing so made me feel like I was controlling cancer vs. the other way around. If there’s one thing I learned going through this experience it’s that keeping your mindset positive makes such a huge difference! I understand it’s scary but you have to keep faith that you are strong and will overcome this. Don’t be scared to be bald or have ppl recognize you are sick due to hair loss. Own it! Try not to hang on to the stigma of cancer but instead.. see it as not many people can be as strong as you and handle what you have already gone through! Only a warrior can be given this journey. We are special 😉 You got this, keep going and don’t give up💪🏼 praying for your healing and strength. ❤️

With hair, wig or without, you are a truly beautiful girl! You remind me of Madisson Hausburg from the TV show Siesta Key. Fighting this cancer and beating it will show you (and empower you) as to just how strong you really are. Dig deep. Visualizations help. I did this when I was sick, and undergoing treatments - imagining miniature warrior pixies buzzing around inside my veins and blasting away all the bad cells (usually set to music). Attitude is everything. I'm so sorry this is happening to you - it doesn't feel fair for anyone to have to go through something like this. To quote "You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it." Believe those words. You will get through this. Hugs, from Canada.

He was 6 weeks prem. I then began aggressive chemo. It was so hard..I too lost all of my beautiful long curly hair..but I stayed positive. Long story short..I am now 55!!! I’m 35 and was diagnosed with cervical cancer in June. I spent the summer going through chemo and radiation. It was scary and made me feel like crap but I was able to be cured! I had to get chemo once a week for 2 months and 30 radiation treatments. I totally understand everything you’re feeling. Right down to being so tired after chemo. I was very lucky and didn’t lose my hair. It was thinning quite a bit and even now a couple months since I’ve stopped treatment it’s still shedding a bit more than it normally would. The thing is... cancer isn’t an automatic death sentence anymore. The treatments they offer are really amazing. I have faith that you will get through is. It’s hard being told that you have cancer when you’re so young, I’m older than you but still young to get a diagnosis. I’ll never, for the rest of my life, forget what it was like to be told that I had cancer. It’s something no one can ever know unless they go through it. But it’s made me realize how strong I am and how much I can handle that I never thought I could. You will battle your way through to a cancer free life as well.. I have faith! And while I know that there is a chance this could happen to me again, I also know that I have what it takes to face that hurdle of it does happen. Good luck my friend and know that you’re not alone!! (In the early days of my diagnosis when I didn’t have a stage or anything like that, I felt immensely alone even when I was surrounded by people. It was a terrible feeling.. I hope you aren’t plagued by that and can find comfort knowing you definitely aren’t!)

I had cancer in 2002. I had chemo. My hair fell out. When it started falling out, I went to the beauty shop and had my head shaved. It was too depressing to wake up and find a clump of hair on my pillow or get up from my recliner and a clump of hair would be on the back of the chair. It was just too depressing. I wore a wig 4 quite a while. But my hair finally grew back in just as thick as it was before. I hope that happens with you. I am going to pray for you. I just found your Channel. One thing that helped me a lot was watching funny shows on TV. They were mostly old ones like I Love Lucy, Everybody Loves Raymond, Etc. Laughter is a good thing.

I have stage4 lung cancer diagnosed at the end of 2018. I was given 6 to 18 months to live, I'm now 55 years old, older by far than you but still too young to die. The only treatment they could offer was palliative (no chance of a cure) but I went for it! I didn't lose my hair on chemo because I used a cooling cap, think of the worst brain freeze ever but worth it. The chemo slowed the cancer but new spots showed after four cycles of chemo so they switched me to immunotherapy. I was not sick at all before and during chemo and never looked sick. When I started immunotherapy I got a clot in my lung which was sooo painful and then had fevers and neutropaenia for 6 days but didn't feel sick at all. I had a PET scan after two cycles of immunotherapy which showed a reaction (side effect) that was potentially life threatening (pneumonitis) but I was just a tiny bit short of breath but (and it's a huge but) it also showed complete response to the immunotherapy (no cancer seen). I'm still on immunotherapy but my scans have been clear since then and my oncologist only wants scans every 6 months now. I kept positive and went out every chance I got (less now with covid) I only took a few months off work whilst I was on chemo (at that stage I had been told I was terminal and didn't want to work till I died) but as soon as I started immunotherapy I went back to my job as a registered nurse and have been working since. Such a long comment and I left heaps out but my advice to you would be stay positive and do what you are doing...... keep living, my motto through this has been just keep living life till I'm not. I send best wishes for, strength and courage but most of all happiness for you, big hugs, stay safe.
