I myself had stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, I’ve been in remission after having a year of treatment and a stem cell transplant. How I mentally got through it is try and detach yourself from your illness treat it like a job that needs to get done but don’t let it get to much in your head.sending lots of love ❤️

I was over heating, had a persistent itch, lost a lot of weight, was lethargic a lot of the time, lose of appetite where the main ones

My dad had your type of cancer when he was a teenager in the 80s. Spread to the lungs as well. He is still kicking in his 50s now, not a single recurrence :)

I am a retired RN! At one time in my career, I was a chemo nurse! Most of my patients with your type of cancer did very well and were cancer free at the end of treatment! I hope you are one of them!!!!

My brother was diagnosed with hodgskins lymphoma when he was 14. When he found out he was already in stage 4. It has spreaded to his lymph nodes, groin, chest etc., ...he is now 33 and has been in remission ever since. God has the final say and you will survive this. This cancer is common in a lot of young people. Best wishes my dear 🙏🏽😘

As a doctor, reading these comments, please talk to your doctor first if you plan on taking any "natural cancer meds". I have seen so many people take that road and it always ends badly. All the best to you :) and don't hesitate asking help for your sleep and mental problems, i'm sure your hospital has psychologists who are trained to work with cancer patients.

Hi! I find this interesting. I heard of many people supporting some super healthy diets, loads of pineapple, organic natural products and alternative treatments as well, and I am curious about your professional opinion and knowledge. Can these (or at least some) alternatives coexist with traditional treatment? I am really not very informed on this and would like to know what is advised. Thank you :)

@@priscilapenzo2434 Nowadays there are so many different natural products as well as many new drugs they use in chemo. So it's impossible to say if those two can coexist. Most natural "cancer cures" don't do unfortunately nothing in fact some can clash with chemo. That's why it is super important for the oncologist/haematologist to know if a patient is taking some additional cures even if it's just over the counter vitamins.

Thank you so much for answering! What about lifestyle? I have a friend whose father had cancer and she really wanted him to change into a very healthy diet and lifestyle in addition to the medical treatment he was getting, trying to get him to love his body into healing, but he was very angry at his own body and refused to change the way he ate and live. Is it any evidence of these approaches making a difference in the healing process? Feel completely free to ignored my questions if you feel this is not relevant. Thank you in advance. :)

@@priscilapenzo2434 Eating well is very important in cancer patient. If a person is losing weight it is a serious alarm symptom. Although eating well might mean something else in healthy prople and peolple undergoing cancer treatments, for example eating a lot raw veggies and fruits might not always be a good idea. Sometimes doctors tell patients to eat more protein rich foods, because proteins are crucial in healing processes. But eating is sometimes very tricky because of anatomical changes also chemo might change taste in a lot of foods plus depression, nausea etc. So your friend was right to draw attention to her dads eating!

I'm so happy for your brother and your family! There are many cancers that can be cured. Many skin cancers as well as early stages of many other types of cancer.

Many cancers can be cured. Basal cell carcinoma is a skin cancer that is cured immediately by cutting out the cancerous area, stage 1 ducal in situ breast cancer is also cured by cutting it out and ensuring clear margins. Hodgkins Lymphoma has roughly 90% survival rate after 10 years, that’s up from 75% in the mid-90s, but even people who get the best treatment can die from it. A doctor would never tell you the things you claim.

My sister had Hodgkins‘ Lymphoma Stage 2b but it was already so big that she got a chemo for stage 4 cancer. She was diagnosed in August 2017 and was cancer free by december the same year after 4 chemos. 3 years later she feels better than ever before! I wish you the same from the bottom of my heart

HI! I got diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (stage 2) in March 2019 - I went through the process of having my eggs frozen and then started chemo in April 2019 and finished on the 31st of July 2019 - so I've been cancer free for just over a year. I found work to be an amazing distraction as it kept some normalcy to my life (as you said school does for you). But I actually had to stop watching Grey's Anatomy cos it was to much for me, I have a lot of trauma with needles and even just seeing them in the show makes me anxious and cry (I'm just trying to get back into it though). Romee: I tolerated chemo well. They have such good anti-nausea drugs now to help. The only things is I got depressed and my Onocologist was on it. It was almost like a chemical-induced depression. She had me hooked up with a Social Worker and Psychiatrist the same day. I went on an anti-depressant which really helped. Please keep this in mind always let your doctors know how you are feeling at all times. My team was great! I had 8 rounds of chemo, 2 surgeries within 24 hours and now I am doing 25 rounds of radiation. I will go on a chemo pill for 6 months after radiation. I have alot of living to do so get out of my way cancer! I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2020.

I signed up to a European bone marrow registry this summer, just in case somebody like you ever needs help. It’s a simple swab test from your oral mucosa. I sincerely hope all goes well with your treatment, I send you prayers and best wishes that you are fit and happy soon. I’m glad you have a good support system, when my husband had cancer he was so angry he got cancer. He was angry all time especially with the family, I feel the time he had he lost his support system from friends. It is so hard to support someone who becomes verbally abusive. We all have bad days, loved ones understand just saying I’m having a bad day can make all the difference. You have such a positive attitude even though you are having a hard time mentally. I'm SO thankful for you that you have a good support system. My boyfriend and I had only been dating for four months when I was diagnosed and he stuck with me the entire time. He and my mom tag- teamed and took such wonderful care of me. I ALWAYS had long breaks between each round because my white blood cells took so long to bounce back. Bless you. You can do this. ♥️

It’s normal to experience mental issues with cancer or any debilitating disease. I meditated and used bio-feedback. Now that I’m in remission I still use it in my every day life. I noticed you don’t talk about your family. My Mom was my rock and stood by me in every procedure and went with me to support group meetings. You need someone to be there for you, to listen and to give you strength. To push you to continue. You have a great positive attitude and that really matters. ❤️🕊🙏🏻

You are very smart to keep living your life as much as possible while undergoing treatment. It keeps you in the present and the future as much as possible while hoping the treatment will lead to remission of the Hodgins's lymphoma. Mentally and physically staying out of the "fetal position". You show strength and maturity that many would not be able to maintain. I really hope you overcome the cancer.
