I used to have the audio cassettes of Candi Staton in the early nineties and enjoyed hers songs with my wife. It was in search of her CDs which I could not that my wife broke the news I could get from KZbin. To God be the glory I am enjoying the songs looking toward to getting her CDs so I Cano play in my car while travelling long journeys. I borrowed a cassette from a friend and this song was on it. That's about late 80's early nineties..and I played it every day. I keep trying over the years to know the name of the song but over the years i remember even the vrery phrasesof the music..that's how often I listen to it. Over 30 yrs ago and just now I found it. Every time I listen to this Song by Candi Staton 'The Anionting' a different hunger swells within me for something more and more about what God can do through you when His Spirit is upon you. It really makes a different because, it's better to swim with the current ie the direction where God is going becomes effortless than to swimming against the current and struggle. And I think Jesus was actually reading one of the Psalms...which predicted his coming into the world to do what he said he was going to do. So many souls, so little time...but in three years Jesus started the church by laying the foundation of what it stood for and who would be building it.

It seems from the previous comments, I am not the only one with this experience. Decades ago, when I was young i my walk with the Lord, I used to listen to this song all the time. I had it on a cassette in my Sony walkman, walking all over downtown NYC on my messenger job.
