Few will care about this, but, I'm fairly sure that the Foxworthy part has been cut down. I used to have a VHS recording of it, however, it was very long ago, so my memory of it might not be entirely accurate. As I remember it, Funt knocked one or two more times suggesting different ways to disturb. Foxworthy realized what was going on and went along with it. When Funt offered repeated wake-up calls, Foxworthy asked if it'd be possible to be woken up by a firework show outside his window. Funt suggested an early time and Foxworthy requested an even earlier one. Hence Funt's comment about Foxworthy kidding them, which seems sort of out of place in this uploaded version. I'm actually not very familiar with Foxworthy apart from having seen this clip and searched for it once a year or so for a very long time!

Awww. Jeff Foxworthy has always been one of my favorite comedians. He seems so down to earth, and his jokes are funny without being offensive. Lesser comedians resort to vulgarity, racism, sexism, or out just to be as offensive as possible just to create a stir. They have to because they have no talent (Andrew Dice Clay being an example). Real talent like Eddie Murpthy and Jeff Foxworthy don't need to stoop to that level. This clips shows his true character: a humble, decent guy who didn't get angry at the joke. The "plug" came a bit late, though. 😑

Redneck is a word that originated to describe poor farmers without education and it's origin was meant to be offensive and derogatory. But many embrace the term and it's not considered offensive in today's standard and especially as a comedian I would consider it funny regardless but there are some that would still be offended.

If I were Mr. Funt I would have added the line to the victims which said, "Now that we, the hotel staff, have done our part in disturbing you as requested, we thought you would be interested in..." Mr. Funt would then try to sell the victims something that is overpriced, maybe ridiculous, and perhaps unrelated to the the hotel services. If the victims then declined the offered product and/or service Mr. Funt could have then said, "Since you're not interested in this product and/or service could you at least smile for us because you're on Candid Camera!"

Once in the 1970's I herd a honeymoon couple getting knocked up in the early hours by a police officer to congratulate them in a hotel, on their wedding, the previous afternoon. Can sometimes be a bit quieter at 4am in a more rural place.
