Thank you for having this honest conversation. I'm an admitted attorney. I got my degree in 2013 and only got articles in 2017 after doing PLT and finally got admitted in 2018 I'm still working in legal insurance. I wouldn't recommend an LLB to anyone. It really is a long journey to success and you end up branching off into something else. I'm furthering my studies to make myself more marketable because an LLB is just an entry-level degree and there's so many of us in the LLB pool

I guess the sad reality, which this video didn't touch much on, is how much CA actually do earn. You get lucky being hired by a firm that's willing to pay you 10k and up. Small law firms take in candidates but for a very low salary and expectations of the work they need to do goes above their scope as a CA. Some candidates don't even get paid. There are law firms currently hiring admitted attorneys who don't even see 20k. The expectations for one CA receiving nothing and another receiving 33k for the same duties are beyond me.

@@lucitania1762 once you finished Bcom law at the eduvos, you apply to an university for your llb. They will determine how long you need to study, it's usually longer than if you did your bcom at an university. The universities differ. We've just done this research for my son in the same situation. We just need to decide between eduvos or varsity college. Some people think eduvos is too "young", and that varsity college is a safer bet. Dunno yet which one we are going to go with.

Hi Yolanda. I'm currently in matric and I'm very passionate about law. I’ve been applying to Universities for an LLB and both BCOM law, I'm also passionate about business, hence why I also applied for BCOM law, although people told me that even though I go for the LLB I can also pursue commercial law but I feel like since LLB is a degree that is broad, I don’t think it will channel me into commercial law as much as a BCOM law degree would. Does that make any difference
@liferesetwithboni11 ай бұрын
Hi, she will respond ☺️!
@mnyengeza_attorneys11 ай бұрын
Hi Bathabile, My suggestion is you take up BCom law as well, and after completion of your BCom then venture into LLB, which will be credited by your BCom, so you will do just 2 years of the LLB. This will position you well for Commercial practice. Not to say people with LLB aren't hired in Fraternity, but when it's accompanied by a BCom it's much more advantageous, puts you in a better place to find employment in that sector. I hope this helps.

Got my LLB 2005, Feb 2006 I was working and so were most of my classmates. Everyone, literally everyone including those who dropped out have been employed in different sectors and some are self-employed and are thriving. The same goes for many who came after me. When we were in our first year we were cautioned that the market is saturated. Like I indicated in my Tiktok comment, attorneys/LPs will never be replaced by robots. Chatgpt has already failed in court.

She seems very mature,confident, I am sure her dabating skills in school had alot to do with her confidence building for someone coming from a township school she as doing very well, it just shows you what is possible no matter where you are from. And her moving to GP as a great moving at some point in my career I moved to GP to CPT and it was game changer. She said GP is very 'receptive' there are alot information in this word she used. To the host your channel has very big potential in black South Africa market, am being purposeful by saying 'black South Africa market,because most of those to be a wakened in relation to what Yolanda was touching on are mostly blacks in South Africa, who don't seem to have career and real life couch. Many black South African think that by simply having a good mark at school with guarantee them success in the real world, the truth is NO, 'character' will and confidence, open mindset. The world we are living in is dominated by the Western culture the sooner Africans get that the better. Very proud of you Yolanda.
