Our hearts are filled with immense gratitude as we, the 4A's of Mukherjee family Ashish, Anjali, Arpita, and Abhishek, sit down to write this thank you note for your love and good wishes, which we are receiving through this podcast. 'Left India And Moved To Canada 15 years ago', which was telecast 2 weeks ago. Encouraged by our host Harmeet @CandidCast, our family could candidly share our thoughts, experiences, and insights that touched so many hearts on this podcast. We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has taken the time to view, engage, and encourage our family with your kind and generous comments and likes through this podcast. Each view, comment, and likes has been an encouragement for our family. The messages we are receiving on our individual social media platforms from different people and countries are beyond geographical boundaries and cultural differences are being treasured. We are humbled by the fact that our thoughts and relatable experiences have reached individuals from different corners of the world and touched so many hearts. We are blessed to have such an incredible community surrounding us, and we are excited to continue this journey together. Your love for our family has inspired us to keep going, especially during times when inspiration seemed scarce. Your messages and comments are helping us grow as even better human beings. It is an honor to have you as part of this journey. Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts.

My family was born in Africa for 2 generations and as the African countries were being granted independence and due to the instability of the new government my father planned to move to UK. In 1968 the laws were changing and we had to make a quick decision to emigrate to UK. My mom, brother and I went first as my dad had to give a 6 month notice to leave his government job. In those days there was no TV, phone, or other type of media except newspapers. We arrived in the middle of February in Uk with no earthly idea as to what to expect. We were picked by a stranger who was a relative of a friend. My dad talegramed him with our flight details. It was a most shocking experience ever. I grew up there and later at 25 emigrated to the USA. I sometimes wonder how we did it and it seems like a movie to me now.

Although canadian healthcare has its challenges, i liked the fact that healthcare in canada is free. The kind of health crises this family went through, in other countries it would have been unimaginably expensive. I dont mind paying extra taxes if education and healthcare benefits are included. Another thing i learnt from this family is that we can start from scratch at any age and upskill/ study at any age. Thank you for this wonderful interview.

People cribbing about working in a lower position, not working in the same field as they used to back home OR not earning as much as they used to back home, should learn something from Mr. Mukherjee. Even after working as an AVP in India, he didn't give up living through all the hardships in Canada and even sold Credit Cards for living, he is so down to earth and graceful. Salute to his attitude and Respect for whole Mujherjee Family! Canada is definitely not for people who don't want to come out of their comfort zone and for those who are accustomed to having domestic help in their native countrym they should not come to Canada. Wish there were more immigrants like Mujherjee family & their helpful friends in Canada.

Nothing courageous in leaving your decent paying job and start working at an entry level position. It's called foolishness and I expect people in their 40s to be more mature and thoughtful before taking such impulsive decision that not only ruined their financial & mental stability but also put themselves & their family into never ending spiral of uncertainty. The amount of love people have for "Phoren" despite having a stable lifestyle in India is beyond my comprehension, if they show even 50% of that louuuve for their motherland, India would have progressed so much (not a patriotic rant but it's a total senseless decision for a salaried employee to literally throw his prime earning years and be jobless or doing an entry level job)
@SunnyKapoor84

Most people who leave India want to get rid of the mindset and negativity which prevails in the country, which will never change no matter how progressive and open minded rest of the world becomes. It forces people to take such decisions even at older ages and we all can very well see how happy this family is in Canada.

Everything is fine with this family. The zeal to move abroad, the hard work they did before going, life style changes etc. only thing is that since they were well placed in india, it was not necessary for them to go there. But after all, its their life. If anyone has good salary plus property in india, i think not required to move.out.of country.

I'm 44 from Thane, Mumbai, India. Since last few years I was planning to immigrate but couldn't fit the point system. I'm always wondering if I'm old enough to again go abroad , especially countries which are far from India, like Canada, Aus, NZ etc , I'm saying 'again' because back in 2006 , I was in the US, MI for my Masters in Information Systems, but had to return back as didn't get job and had to return to Mu.bai in 2010. This video has given me some strength and courage since you started afresh at 49, kudos to you !!

It's really nice podcast, got to know many things about canada, but I feel that mental issues may be more in canada or country like this compare to India as people are more social or I would say people meet too often to their friends and family , even neighbors are always there for communication and I think due to that reason there are less mental issue in comparison.

@arpsm

At the time when we moved here, we were all having so many mental issues and all thanks to the jobs that three of us were working in - neither one of us could deal with the politics and corruption in our jobs and it was causing so much anger and stress in all of us. My brother was young and both our grades were averaging in the 80s. Most good university cut offs at the time were in the 90s. Kya life Hoti humari. We owe ALL to our parents because it was a very difficult decision and a difficult process as well. Difficult only because we had to leave our entire extended family back home. It's just the four of us here, moving here has brought our family closer together.
