Then you told her to lie to medical professionals so you didn't seem like a bad mom. Then kept her home because you didn't want her "exaggerating". If she tells someone "I told my mom my leg hurts but she thought I was lying so she made me work all weekend and then when we went to the hospital she tried to get me to lie." That's not a exaggeration.

15 year old kid one. Dear OP, YTA ,this is toxic parenting. You're gaslighting your child. Even if your kid was lying she would have been embarrassed at the ER and she'd get her medicine for lying, but the fact that you said that she never mentioned going back on the fact that her knee was hurting even after you threatened to take to the ER (and yes based on the fact that you assumed she was lying, you were threatnening her just to see if she'd fess up) should have told you something is wrong. You told her to lie to the doctor and insisted on not letting her go to school just so your image wasn't ruined and tried to make yourself sound better by saying that she'd exaggerate it. You can't pull the "boy who cried wolf" story on your child, regardless if they may be lying you have to be concerned especially if they arent letting up on something like an injury. God forbid your child had a broken bone, would you be trying to justify yourself then?

engagement rings are classically the flashy and expensive rings, wedding rings are normally just metal bands maybe with a few small stones. would be complete opposite to do that and wedding rings that are expensive aren't nearly as common.
