I just heard a new song, the music is soooooo gooooood, but I can’t listen without thinking how it would sound With messiah. I respect the Candlemass of today and yes, I understand that its the original line-up….but it dosent help.

For the curious: "A black dwarf is a hypothetical stellar remnant, created when a white dwarf becomes sufficiently cool enough to no longer emit significant heat or light. Since the time required for a white dwarf to reach this state is calculated to be longer than the current age of the universe (13.7 billion years), no black dwarfs are expected to exist in the universe yet, and the temperature of the coolest white dwarfs is one observational limit on the age of the universe." - Wikipedia

I agree with pretty much everything you said here. This is what i mean when i say that Heavy Metal has changed. Except that there's a big difference with was and is something that was a certain genre isn't that anymore if they changed their style. Their older work itself is. If a heavy metal bands has some Hard Rock songs that doesn't make them automatically Hard Rock. That just meant that they have some songs outside of their typical genre.

And that's how subgenres are born. One band might be hard to fit into a genre, but the genre itself has certain set characteristics. The band can have elements of the genre or it may not. You can use multiple genres to describe a band that doesn't fit one. I'm kinda weary of discussion. This genre debate started when i stated that this song isn't Doom Metal neither is most newer Candlemass. There is nothing blurry about that.

maybe it is not so typical of candlemass, neither evokes a doom-metal feeling but it is a very good song indeed, and the solo is great, one of the best solos since the magnum ''the well of souls''. that johansson is surely the best doom metal guitarist as far as i know
