Do you have any recommendations on how to perform a bank rec for a company that has not reconciled in 6 years? I am willing to do the most recent 2 years of reconciliations myself. But I am not sure how to go about clearing the old transactions so I can get the correct beginning balance

May, if you've never reconciled before you will leave it blank. Just add your ending balance/current balance. - Candus

Issue: Union bk merged with US bank end of May 2023. The last ending balance fm Union bk was the beg bal for US bank (smooth transition). My problem is that checks that were issued from UNION bk are being cashed in US bk so I manually changed those checks from Union to US and now Union Bank has a balance when it should be cleared. Do you have a video or class on how to fix this, when two banks merge but outstanding checks are being cashed from the new bank instead of the old? TIA

Hi, Typically you wouldn't add another bank to your QuickBooks if your bank merges, you would just keep the original bank. i need help to reconcile my accounts. If money was transferred from one bank to another, but there was a fee. How do i reconcile it when the numbers dont match? Like if i transferred $50 to another bank account it turns into 45 because of a 5 dollar fee.
