That's how it was in the old days . A queen could have a worst enemy but let something like this happen, and the girls would come together !! It was a happening thing back in the 70s in SanFrancisco, there was a couple of killings that had all the " girls" up in arms, and scared as shit, but we would watch each others backs, no matter !! This show is taking story lines from "Paris is Burning " most definitely !! It was a reality then, and it is still going on today !! To many trans and gays are being hurt and killed just because they are in the world !! These haters that are doing this horrible actions against people just because they are different , will not win !! Karma is a bitch , and it will come back on them harder then they will ever know !!

Yes, this was based on VX. Sadly, even in death, VX didn’t win. She was buried under her given bio male name by her parents. VX was murdered by an assailant who was never found. She was missing for four days and nights until her body was found under a bed in a sleazy motel room in New York. I believe she is buried in New Jersey at the Holy Cross cemetery. She was only 23 years old....

What was different about this episode, compared to others this tried to cover a similar story was the focus on how the murder of Candy affected those who knew her. You know what surprised me about the motel scene? Blanca in the previous episode learned about the dangers of trans women working for Johns (and even knew the severity of turning tricks at the same motel), yet she seemed "compliant". However, when Angel got rejected from the modeling gig, Blanca was ready to run up to the company and demand an explanation, and before that she and Papi went after that sleazy photographer who took pictures of Angel and beat his ass. It now confuses me how Blanca didn't just run to the room where Candy was; makes me think Blanca and Lulu could've saved her.

Lulu said Candy already missed two shifts at the club. And she hasn't come home. Sounds like she could've been dead for more than 24 hours by the time Blanca and Lulu went to the motel. The killer likely never checked out, thus the room 44 was still occupied. The motel guy could run after her and beat her up, she knows the dangers of that place for trans women. There's nothing Blanca could have done to save Candy.

The photographer thing was different. Angel knew who the guy was, his address, how many photos he took, etc. Angel had enough information for Blanca and lil papi to confront the photographer. Candy’s situation is very much different. The only info we had on Candy was the motel and room she stayed in. Nobody knew when Candy checked in, who she checked in with, how long she stayed, what vehicle she got into, etc. Candy was missing and they guy behind the desk already mentioned that he didn’t see her. I guess that was enough to believe that Candy wasn’t there and could be anywhere else.

She was murdered by a john. If you have never seen the documentary 'Paris Is Burning', I suggest you watch it. One person in that documentary named Venus Extravanganza was murdered by a john and found underneath a motel bed four days later. Pose takes lots of inspiration from 'Paris Is Burning', especially season 2 of Pose in particular.
