It’s all about Candyman’s “congregation”. He lives forever and his power is from people belief in him. She survives because she is a messenger. The only reason the OG Candyman intervened in the original movie is because Helen got that drug dealer off the street who had the moniker of Candyman. The legend was gone and people lost belief after he was arrested. So the real one had to show up and get the power of belief back. Y’all reactions are the best. Funny asf 😂

The reason she survived is simpler than that. She only said Candyman 4 times, and the cop said it the 5th time, making HIM the target and not her. It is possible he left her alive to be the messenger, but she also wasnt the target in the first place.

There have been many victims in the films who were killed just by association-didn’t even participate in the summoning. For example Helen’s college friend Bernadette or the psychiatrist. If your own logic was correct then that would mean Anthony would have only killed that one cop and not all of them.

I still can't believe that I didn't see the various Candymen in the reflections of the police car windows. I wonder if Brianna saw them as well. In any case she saw Anthony die - or as Burke probably saw it be baptised and born anew as the next candyman - and saw him return and saw Daniel Robataille come back as well. So she unfortunately or fortunately is still the witness Burke declared her to be. The instructions she was given - 'tell everyone' - think that makes her like a missionary to Candyman's congregation (as he called them) or like the new high priestess?

Nia DaCosta who directed this movie is directing the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels and you can definitely tell from her direction which is one of my favorite things about this film. Teyonah Parris (who played Monica Rambeau in WandaVision) is of course gonna be in The Marvels. That's gonna be their second collaboration after this film.

Lol the difference between Disney and Pixar movies are the studio that makes them. Pixar is owned by Disney but they’re a separate studio with its own animators, directors etc. Just be on the lookout for their logos at the beginning of the films: Disney animation has steamboat Mickey whistling and Pixar has the lamp jumping over the “I”. Pixar usually doesn’t make musicals like Disney does, but that’s not how you should differentiate them 😄 both studios could come up with any story, but they’re the best animation studios out there so just know you’ll be getting QUALITY whenever you watch one of their films.

Funny how in the trailer they like the cops killed that guy they thought wad putting razor blades in candy and made him the victim which he still could be but in the elevator when he's dropping candy and Anthony opened it it has razor blades in it so.........
