No Doubt in my mind that he is the master of this style. I don't think anyone approaches his composition much less his technique for this particular style of playing.

one of my favorite don ross songs, i love how in every vid hes just so into it, and i love how you can feel too in his music
@TruestWeakling15 жыл бұрын
idk why i'm thinkin about this but....Don Ross is one of those talented people, who when they die, it's a huge loss to the community that that person is part of - in his case, the guitar world. He's freakin amazing!
@PPWarrior16 жыл бұрын
Seriously, Antoine DuFour is MY favourite guitar player but Don Ross bring so much to the art of music he's like.... a GENIUS! I hope one day I'll be enough good at guitar to make a show in homage to all these great guitarist like Don, Antoine, Andy and ect...

I'd like to teleport these guys back 100 years and have them play during that era. Just to see how much it would revolutionize our culture. if there was another age of musical enlightenment this would be it. I love candy rat records and what they represent.

not soon enough my friend. Musicians don't play music to be better than someone else...they become musicians to express themselves in their own style. When people realize that...then the whole thought of music will change drastically.

I've seen him live, and upon seeing him, my first thought was that this Lowden O (Jumbo) model looks like a camping guitar in his hands. I've got the same, but I can easily hide behind it. Some great'n'wicked playing here.
@SonataArctica666615 жыл бұрын
why is drifting more popular than this song? this guy is definitely gods gift to the acoustic guitar, to quote a previous commenter. Andy McKee is amazing, this guy is still better.

07:16 "That has nothing to do with anything." Gotta love Don's little stories and his interaction with the crowd. I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting him two times now and it was always fun to watch and listen to. And apart from being the great guitarist that he is he's also a really good singer, check out his new CD "Any Colour"!

@useruser1237 it says on don ross' website all the tunings for his songs. I'm working on this one, so I can confirm its standard tuning.
@yumpin15 жыл бұрын
i have never heard him say why, but firstly he changes strings a lot, so its a pain. secondly, when changing strings that often, you are bound to marr the finish eventually with the cutters touching the finish on the headstock, and thirdly, it gives him character!
@MeneerKB15 жыл бұрын
because he could still use the strings when they break close to the bridge.
