I can’t believe this has only had 320K views, this is the best thing I have ever heard in my life!

Don't worry about it making the charts. Pop music is for the moment. Good music is recorded for all time. People will be listening to Don's music long after he's gone. The same mostly can't be said for today's (or tomorrow's) "hit".

Don has many CDs and DVDs out. If you ever get a chance to see him, DO IT! I make it a point to see him every time he comes to Minneapolis. He's very open to his fans as well. He will talk with you after each show about whatever you want to talk about. I've had the chance to sit and jam with him after one of his shows. The 1st show of his I saw, changed my life and my music styles. He is my guitar "Idol".

Your music is breath taking. This song is one of your best Don, it waters your eyes with passion, you are truely creative and inspirational. Today's youthful media does a great injustice to such wonderful hidden talent. This is the stuff you should be seeing on the top of our mainstream charts.

This is the type of music you can just come home from work to, sit, relax and drift away into your mind. When the song is over you feel like a new person and just want more!

I really like this style to play guitar. Flamenco has shown in the past that guitar can be a very percusive instrument, and now this guys, like A. Mckee are showing great sensitivity and awsome harmonies, along with percusive new forms. Love this things!

For me, ppl who criticize things like this diesn't matter cause at the end of the day, they couldn't play like Don Ross even if they practised and tried hard. So, who cares what they think? Attention seekers.

Don is there any chance to have your talent here in Brazil São Paulo for some shows maybe with Brooke and Andy? Please we need to see the amazing things you can do with a guitar.

@ZebMacahan A Very long time. I have never wore them out. They grow with your nail like acrylics. once they start working their way down the nail, I would replace them. Also, I pretty sure these are the same nails, Craig D'Andrea, Antoine Dufour use. I think I seen Andy Mckee with one on his thumb nail too

@SlipKnoTtater15 жыл бұрын
that is so interesting how he also uses his thumb to hold down the string, you can see it at 2:01 - 2:04

Who cares about the mistakes, Don transmits much more emotion than most of technically superior guitar players. If I want perfection in the arrangements I listen to computer music.

I'm sure its a concert, but its a very very small one. I can almost guarantee he's playing to record these.

I dont know if anyone noticed, but he missed one note at exactly 3:12 on the video, you can also tell it by his face seconds later. But its ok, even my hero have the right to miss some notes a few times.

What I said ? Thisi I answer to naivitasrebel who says that Don's music was boring and without interest . "Hueva" is a bad word in spanish and I love too much Don Ross music for his music to let poor brats talking so bad about great musicians. You even see here that most of people love it, so I just ask a little respect and I answered because that guy must be chilean and I'm chilean too.Got all his CDs and DVD. Don't know if you answer to nativitas or me? Me,I love too much Don!

@CarstenNeugebauer16 жыл бұрын
yeah, i heard about that before, didn't michael hedges originally come up with that idea? hmh... any tips on how to go about trying this? what kind of glue to use etc ? (i imagine you'd have to cut them to size an then glue them to your nails, right?)
@chadfengel14 жыл бұрын
@ZebMacahan Don uses basic fake nails.. The brand is from KISS, and he uses the Active Oval... I have used these and they do work great....You can get them at Wal-Mart I know

Yeah, and sometimes that isn't even enough. I saw him in concert and one of his nails flew off on the second song. The people who didn't know he glued on acrylic nails were a little horrified, I think.

regarding his "nails" - are those freedompicks? because if so, i'm inclined to order me a package and see if it works for me. i'm growing really tired of always grooming my nails just to be able to play decently and then having them break at the next "best" opportunity :-/

or you can just grow out your own nails to a certain point that fits your comfort and put on nail hardener. I do it, I have no problem, the occasional but thats why i cut them once they start getting dangerously long

@SlipKnoTtater Yeah it's not the most common technique but it's certainly not new or revolutionary. A popular example of someone who used his thumb to fret would be Jimi Hendrix.
@360PhoenixFlip18 жыл бұрын
OMG some peoples comments are daft...you can buy picks for fingerpicking that you put over your fingers/thumb
