It’s sad how so many boxers start from the bottom, where they come from poor backgrounds, and have no name to their resumé, and have to work countless years to become successful and earn a shot at a title. I liked his response here. He gave it his natural response because right now Canelo has bigger fish to fry in terms of his legacy, but when pushed about it, he gave an accurate answer based on knowing that there's money to be made with Jake. I'm not a JP fan because he hasn't beaten any pro boxer yet. His record against longtime pro boxers is 0-0-0 but I respect his hustle. I respect people that don't dampen other people's dreams just because it seems farfetched. Do I believe JP could even beat an unfit and unmotivated Canelo at 40 in 9 yrs' time? No, I really don't. I think a bigger Canelo who's had a few good nights out would still have enough in his tank to beat JP in his prime. I like the fact that Canelo lets his dream live. But he's being optimistic and kind when he says it. His true reaction was the beginning. I appreciated the thought out and measured response though.
