Lara dominated the first 4 rds Canelo began to connect and closed the gap the rest of the way hurting Lara multiple times to the body. Once he cut Lara, Lara began to evade and didn’t throw his punches with conviction like Canelo did the whole fight. Canelo was the aggressor and took the fight to Lara all night. Lara with the cleaner shots and Canelo with the harder ones. Judges tend to lean more towards power punches and who gets hurt. Was good fight.

Anyone who thinks lara won is obviously a fan of amateur boxing or olympic track running and doesn’t understand the differences in PRO boxing scoring from the amateur system. And canelo as always only needs just one punch to totally change a fight, he destroyed that body all night but the one meaningful head shot cut lara and had it been a bit lower it could have broken his jaw. I saw 2 different fighting styles in Professional Boxing Style Canelo WON his fight in a Olympic boxing style Lara Won his fight. After the 6th round, Lara had the right eye busted and he felt Canelo's Punching Power on his body. Lara slower his hands and speedy his legs to hit&run Canelo kept punishing Laras body all fight long. Maybe a Draw was more Convenient for Everyone, including Us. Second flight. Lara won't take Canelo's Punishing for 6 rounds.

Ridiculous decision and score cards. That first Judge was on crack. The other two i can roll with but I wouldn't have given either fighter a win. WOW. What makes a great fighter is the ability to adjust to your opposition. (Ali, Mayweather, Crawford) Nobody stands in the middle of the ring and trades haymakers until it's time to do so. That's some backyard crap on youtube. Alvarez needs to work on his foot work and ability to cut off the ring. Not everybody is going to be a stationary target for you to do bag drills on. Check the judging criteria for a pro fight then comment. Effective aggression, ring generalship, Hard and clean punches. You can land more punches and not win the fight. Should have been a DRAW!!

Being a huge fan of the Cuban amateur program I kept a close eye on that group that emigrated to the States - Solis, Lara, Gambia - legit boxer punchers.. .. Lara was robbed vs P-Dub... it was a brilliant performance against a great fighter in Williams but by the time of the canelo fight Lara no longer boxed on the outside or in tthe pocket; he ran...vs Angulo, forget about it! On the upside ,at 38yo, Lara may have realised he has to be more exciting if he wants a pay day before he's too old. The canelo rematch will never happen but vs GGG may be a go... but to get paid we need the Lara who fought P-Dub
