Did you see the Dinobots too? They were only sketches but dang they look great. Can’t wait to have a full set of predacons fighting a full set of dinobots. Also, I’m not sure if that gorilla figure is supposed to be primal. After seeing the foxes that become the feet and the dinobots, I think it’s just a made up character that just happens to become a gorilla.

After seeing the images, I am still all in on this set. Predaking isn't a character I need to be full toon, and this thing looks awesome ! (IMO) That being said, I could see an eventual Zeta set overtaking this for me, but since that isn't even a thing, I will be happy with this set.

Animals strike curious poses...😂 I'm mildly interested in Cang's legends sized version. It feels easier to take a stylized legends version since it's less of an investment. Although, they haven't shown that combined mode either, so it's the same tactic. MS, NA, and/or Zeta (especially after how nice their first two Aerialbots feel) need to show their legends Predaking.

With the reveal of a second wolf, I feel there was a missed opportunity. A hyena would have been better suited. Roughly same shape and color pallet and falls in with the African motif.

Still very happy with the figure myself and I just started buying em last month. G1 was never important to me though, nor do I have a soft spot for any of the characters themselves. I just like cool toys, so long as the dang thing is sturdy enough to function well I bet I will be happy.

I’ve been collecting stylised “Cybertronian” beast formers like the perfect effect optimal optimus and tm2 megatron, their lio convoy, the generation toys optimus primal etc and so this will fit in perfectly with them for me!

Just adding my experience here to be a statistic for posterity. I was about 5 years too late to grow up with G1. I did watch G1 as an adult, but couldn't get into season 3+4 because Prime was dead. Therefore I don't have an attachment to Predaking. I'm all in on Cang Toy's version since I think they look great. I wouldn't be devastated if the combined mode wasn't amazing. To me, they're good enough to be displayed individually.

As someone who likes the more out there designs, I’m actually more interested in this set of figures than I was to start. I’ve always liked Gundams and Zoids, and the more I see the more I like. It’s quite an investment, but i am looking at what picking them up. When will you be selling yours Bobby?

The overall look of the set doesn't bother me, I kind of like it and might picked em up at a discount. Also I kind of want to know your overall thoughts of the TFC Satan combiner, I myself am all in for it since all I need is the Hunger that they have yet to show, or at least I have yet to see anything of.

I think during his review of TFC Sinnertwin and Cutthroat he said they looked childish and that lightpiping and transparent plastic was something that low quality/amateur manufacturers do. I have all 4 and I think they're dope. Maybe cause I'm a pleb.

Disappointed we didn't get the starscream comparison this weekend. Maketoys is still great but their starscream was probably their weakest among all their seekers. The Deformation Starscream can be swapped in for Maketoys Starscream without having to replace all of them. Plus, I like the idea of starscream being bigger the other seekers as the leader of the seekers. The arms on the maketoys starscream and the head scuplt are just bad in comparison to eithe of MP 52 or Deformation. I think if Deformation releases a flight stand it will help create the separation to leave maketoys in the dust but if make toys could release a flight stand then they could try to argue they have the best alt mode and fill that purpose leaving the other two to battle it out in robot mode.

Looking at the combined mode, his head looks a tad too small. But what really strikes me is the hips. I don't know how he'll get a good range of motion for his legs with the primal parts hanging off and in the way. Stylistically, I kinda love this thing but already have a predaking.

The waist, chest and head of the combined mode seems a bit small compared to the rest but still I love this set. Either in single bot mode or beast mode these bots look great and in fact I love them so much that I think it would be a big waste to display them in combined mode, in fact I may end up displaying them in beast mode. I have to be honest and say I have no relation whatsoever with Predaking, I never saw him in the cartoon and couldn't care less about him has a character. I've seen his original design and I think this Cang Toys Predaking looks different enough from it to be of interest to me, I don't like when stylized interpretations are almost the same as the originals look. I knew from the start this was going to be a completely different take on this character, in fact I couldn't understand why ppl were criticizing it for being stylized if it was like that from the get go so there's no surprise here and I'm very satisfied whit it so far. I understand ppl wanting a G1 Predaking representation but this isn't it and it hasn't been it from the start.

Saying it doesn’t go into anyone’s collection is stupid. There’s a massive scope out there…..saying that if those people mean it won’t go into a mainstream MP collection that’s a fair point. In my case my collecting is pretty random and inconsistent in style, scale and series mainly because I’ve been in the game for about 20 years. I do need a Predaking and will give this consideration.

I'm happy with these Predcons and like the design. I don't care for G1 and like the zoids look of these. I think I like that both modes are fun unlike Zeta and Toyworlds figures who big and bulky and not fun. It's what I liked about MMC Predaking the 5 bots are so fun. I'm in on this set and can see why some people are out because it's too left felid for them.

Call of the Primitives was my Favourite Episode. The story wasn't that fleshed out but It was like they blew the whole animation budget in one go and as a Kid watching it, That's all that really mattered 😊

I seriously doubt that combiner will have any stability. The size of the arms and chest to the hips seems too big and looks like there is too much weight on top. Unless the hips, knees, and ankles have strong ratchets I can see the combined mode being very floppy. Personally I would rather see a combiner as a non-transforming figure, similar to Has Lab's Sentinel or Galactus.

I don't know what I was expecting from the combined mode. Personally I like the look of the individual bots (so far) in beast modes. And I have room on my animals shelf for the gorilla, but not sure where i am going to fit the lion and rhino yet but i know I want them. As you say, there is no right or wrong answer. For those who like this it is good; for those who don't, they will ignore it. The hardest part to accommodate is those (perhaps like yourself) who were giving it a try but half way through don't feel a strong enough connection to the models to spend the high prices on completing it. In theory this means that I should not have trouble in getting hold of the lion, but production numbers of the gorilla and rhino could be less (or even cancel the rhino) if Cang Toys feel it is no longer cost effective. I'm not really sure what point I am trying to make there. Certainly not to tell people they should keep buying even if they do not want it! But there is a business decision to be made by Cang Toys. How committed are they to completing this set...?!

Interesting how tastes differ. I feel he looks like Predaking, but where we are back at the same junction is at the chest. Razorclaws lion really needs to be WAY more prominent and the wings are almost lost on this. This and the monkey pants fact just destroys this set for me. Sadly I'm sitting on my Ferocious and Landbull. Seems like a LOT are out on this set and so these guys seem to become aftermarket shelfwarmers. Smooth 200 bucks just sitting here that I could REALLY be using otherwise. Bummer.

I love the Zeta boys (Supes, Brutes, Devy) and I really wanted the Zeta Zeta Predaking. Saw the Rampage and Tantrum and was almost going to commit then saw Razorclaw and I'm commit to waiting haha.

Firmament personally had me on the fence already, as the wing sheared of, right out of the box, I essentially was done. 3/4 nails to that casket. Final one came when I saw Razorclaw. NOPE! 😂

I agree with Bobby here; Thunderking's design is disappointing. Cannons on his back look like toothpicks, the wings are placed at his lats instead of his upper shoulders and you can clearly see the black "connector" piece, the waist is too skinny, the lion's-mane chest section looks like its got stage fright and is trying to escape out the back, his crotch looks like a terrified eyeless mouse, oh, and both the chest and crotch seem to have tiny hamster hands that are trying to imitate Edvard Munch's "The Scream". This is fine in Legends-scale given the lower price tag, but this MP version? No. Not for close to a thousand dollars, not when it looks like it's got an eating disorder and its entire mid-section is having a panic attack. And this is just what Cang wants us to see right now, btw. If Thunderking turns out to have skinny Gundam legs...*shudder*

I like how this set is turning out. Although I do agree with how Razorclaws head and mane are not the focus of the combined mode chest. I do think it'll look good with that Superion coming out. They both somewhat look like they could bridge a gap between G1 and the Bayverse designs.

@Bobby Something you missed which is even more concerning. Look at the arm connectors. THEY do not look like they are fully in and look sort of bent from the weight. This does not bode well for its combined mode in terms of sturdiness or posing ability. Look how far they stick out. YIKES

This is true. However a lot of people don't like combiner parts that have no purpose other than being a combiner part - they want it to actually *do* something and not just sit in the box when not in combined form. Having an extra bot certainly ticks the box for those people.

Good talk. I like the robot modes of Landbull, Firmament, and Gorilla, and I like the beast modes of all of them so far except Klingon, who I really don't like at all. I was disappointed in the combined form as well and now I don't know if I should stick with it for the alt modes, robot modes, or still possibly the gestalt as they said they're making changes. I still LOVE Firmament tho. No regerts if I bail now b/c I at least secured that.

Now that it's been a year and they've almost entirely released the set (with full-color combined mode revealed), I'm really conflicted about them. I LOVE the combined mode look. It's EXACTLY the kind of I want in a combiner. Thick thighs, big feet, small head, beefy all the way through. But like you and MANY others have pointed out, it doesn't just not fit into my collection, but rather It doesn't fit into ANY transformers collection period. It occurred to me that if someone out there collects Gundam or Zoids, this would be a pretty cool gateway figure to dip your toes into transformers while matching your current collection. I, for one, am constantly looking for any excuse to buy figures that link the Transformers brand to other collaborative brands while matching the Transformers style. But for me, since I'm not on that other side of the fence, and I want transformers that LOOK like transformers, as cool as this combiner looks, he would be more of a distraction in my collection then a centerpiece. So despite having the first 2, I think I'm out on this set. I just really wished they toned it down a notch, that's all.

As Cang Toys came out one by one, each iteration moved farther & farther away from the G1 look - Rampage Overall was Pretty Good, then came Tantrum, he too was a Good Looking figure, then DiveBomb Dropped & if you had misgivings from the start they compounded by a solid leap. When Razorclaw was shown, you could see they went a couple steps further, now looking more ZOID like than G1. Definitely NOT the LOOK I was LOOKING for to say the least. I was ok with slight variations, Divebomb was a bit much, but could live with it. Razorclaw is just too far left of what I was expecting. I was even ok with OP Ape being the hips, I thought it was an interesting solution, similar to a Parts Former but you got another figure out of it, not that, for me, Predaking would ever have come out of Combined mode....... However, now? ....................Now I am thinking I just threw away my Hard Earned $$$ away - almost as if it was a Bait & Switch If they had kept to the aesthetics of Tantrum & Rampage, maybe a few minor tweaks towards the Divebomb look, I believe Cang would be ok & the Fandom would breath a HUGE SIGH of relief. It's a shame as the Design was looking Promising and I had High Hopes for it. Perhaps, this is where Zeta SWOOPS in and makes their own, sticking close to the Originals Look. I have no choice but to continue to get the others, in a ever increasingly vain hope that Cang pulls out a Victory, and if not, I can sell the set for what I paid for it. Might just be an EXPENSIVE Place Holder.

The individual bots look super cool and if I had the space I would do a shelf of them that way, but man is that combined mode just not good looking, the monkey pants are just not good, I would have rather them have a parts forming piece than primal flipped upside down in the middle of Predaking. And I'm with Bobby in that the lion head should be way more prominent on the chest rather than recessed behind more stuff. Might still pick up the legends class versions if those are really going to be a thing

Zeta Predaking would have been my choice, but out of desperation for a Predaking, I was in on Cang Toys…however, I think I’m out too. The three I have look good in their combined modes, and I didn’t mind the idea of “Monkey Pants Primal” if the pants were done well. Razorclaw was my deciding factor, and it’s not my style. I like some stylized figures, but this is going to look like a ZOIDS combiner. Back to the drawing board

I was out when they showed the Razorclaw. It also didn't help that my copy of Divebomb was a disaster in alt-mode (joints weren't strong/tight enough to hold the wings up), so I sold all the Predacons released at that point. Glad I did. As Bobby said, he looks nice, but nothing like Predaking. I was immediately put off by its small waist, tiny lion head and all the random layering of panel after panel. He looks like one of those artsy statues made out seashells and then painted. Hopefully Zeta will pull their heads out of their asses and start doing again what they are good at: combiners.
