I have the Oase thermo biomaster 600 on a 360l tank. The prefilter and built in heater were what sold it to me. I've been running it nearly 6 months now, and clean the prefilter every 2-3 weeks with the blue 45ppi sponges. My bioload is 27 small tetras, 10 corydoras, 2 angels and 1 bristlenose. Have 2 trays of the blue sponge in the bottom of main filter, 2 trays of biohome and the rest the supplied foam. All readings good with 33% water change every 10 days. Very impressed with filter and will clean out main filter in next month or so to see where we are at. Flow still good so not expecting an issues. Thanks for the comparison.

I clean my main filter about every six to eight months. I do the prefilters once a week.

I just set up an acrylic Clear for Life 45S. It’s a 48 x 13 x 17 tank. With such a narrow foot print I decided to go with an Oase Biomaster Thermo 350 to minimize the equipment inside the tank. I loaded it with Seachem Matrix……..

I decided to go with the marineland because my dad has a few marineland canister filters that have each lasted 10 years, with only needing to change the big gasket for the top piece on one of them.

Hope you like it.

I have a 10 year old marineland c360. I see they made an improvement on the new marineland on how the powerhead attaches. Do you have issues with the marineland sucking air and blowing micro bubbles or leaking? It seems like the new model won't have that issue.

Do you ever notice the OASE purges air and make a noise from the impeller?
@tkaquariumadventures5723 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Other than it it runs great.

Thanks. It’s a good filter.

The water is first sucked up thru the trays, according to the animation in Oase's website. Thus, the pre-filter should be coarse(blue) and then the filter media should be coarse(blue), medium(orange) and then black(fine). Unfortunately, the marketing guys with Oase got the order of sponge media wrong in their video too and don't even sell black sponges for the trays, so we've got to cut them ourselves. I'm stunned no one else seems to have caught this oversight that seems obvious to me.

What do your nitrates run using the 6 trays of matrix ?
@tkaquariumadventures57232 жыл бұрын
Very low I can go 3-4 weeks with out a water change and still be good.

I bought the Marineland C360 years ago and had leak issues. They even sent me a new filter and it leaked after using it for a few months. I suppose the Magniflow is a rebranded C series! So no leak issues?

Mine is great so far.

Man, that marinland is 100% a Tetra 1200....and I was thinking only chinese copy other companies...😱😱

I’ve never seen the tetra till now, I just googled it, wow. That is crazy. Thanks for watching!

The tetra is a German company the Marineland a USA company both filters are the same filter probely from China there defo made n same factory that's for sure but there good average filters for the money I have a sunsun that's one of my many canisters it's made n China but it's a great filter for the money 60pound new you can't say anything bad about a filter that costs 60pound that's as well made n lasts well over 4year

The Marineland magna flow looks a lot like a sunsun. Would be nice if they moved away from those priming buttons, it's easier to prime by filling the intake tube and then just opening the the valve and it starts the siphon every time 😁
@AquaNoxLTD2 жыл бұрын
Seachem matrix is not as good as you think each parts different its pumice rocks better with biohome

Thanks for the info.

Only reason people say that is that some pores are below 8 microns which would be too small for bacteria to live in, if you allow for that & reduce it's efficiency by 50-60% it still has 3x as much surface area as biohome & doesn't degrade over time like biohome, there's no better biological media available currently than matrix, you're misinformed

Does the oase filter work for salt water?
@tkaquariumadventures57232 жыл бұрын
Maybe, don’t do salt water. Most people with saltwater run a sump.
