6 week flowering photoperiod strains have been around for decades. I have European seed catalogues from the 90's. Ruderalis Skunk from Sensi Seeds isn't an "Autoflower" but has "Ruderalis" genetics in it. The flowering time of Ruderalis Skunk Regular is incredibly short - approximately 40 to 50 days.
@loganleborgne42027 күн бұрын
Top 45 is another example...! Ruderalis indica is the 1st "fast seed" as they crossed ruderalis and an early indica...but it was another time when hazes were really popular and flowering time wasn't a concern...the real Jack Herer amnesia haze moby dick etc needed between 12 and 16 weeks but today you can't find anything exceeding 70 days or 10 weeks...
@johnkehoe836827 күн бұрын
Upon reviewing the information, it appears that Sensi Seeds Skunk strains like Skunk #1 and Sensi Skunk Feminized do not contain ruderalis genetics. These strains are hybrids of Afghan, Pakistani Kush, and Chemdawg, and they are photoperiod strains that require a change in the light cycle to flower. However, Sensi Seeds does offer an automatic version of Skunk, called Skunk #1 Automatic, which does have ruderalis genetics to enable autoflowering

Ever wonder why early finishing sweet corn does not taste as good as a long season variety? Less amount of time for the plant to make sugars,etc
@theblobfish961427 күн бұрын
There is strains that flower in 6-7 weeks naturally and they dont lack in flavor. There arr some specific terpenes, i think ocimene is one, that only develops in longer flowering plants, but a short flowering plant can produce bonkers harvests and great aroma and strength.
@glen.simpson26 күн бұрын
some would debate you here, finding the early season corn more digestible and delightful in taste....similarly, while late season hay supposedly is higher in protein, the milk from fresh, early season grass always makes the best tasting milk. Why? I think because the early season grass/hay is more easily digested compared to late season hay.....

I grew 3 Auto Flowers from RQS and harvested them 2 weeks ago. 1 "Northern Light", 1 "Special Queen #1" (Skunk, but not really Skunky). and 1 "Quick One". They turned out to be my best tasting and smell even better than my summer grow but not as strong. I just ended the 3 I had growing to plant regular seeds from RQS and have no regrets. My biggest problem is the low yield, small size and no control over budding time. Because of my 11 plant, 5 strain summer grow I am no longer in a hurry. I understand the Highigan Duo and how she really grows for smell and strength.

The way it was explained to me, the whole "fast flowering" feature doesn't work for indoor growing. It's meant to initiate flower sooner than usual outdoors regardless of the day-night light cycle
@MysticalGardens28 күн бұрын
I grew a few fast flowering varieties from fast buds. I also made an f1 hybrid that was fast flowering as well. They do have the potential to finish early, but you need to hunt for the ones that do. F1 hybrids can lean heavy to the mother or father. The mother may have a shorter flowering time, and the father may flower for longer. I had some finish in 6-8 weeks. On the flip side, some of them took 11-14 weeks.

@@comfortablynumb9342 why, just grab your early when they are done early, then spread your other 2 girls out... treat them good those last several weeks.. sometimes you'll like the early phenos more than the late... the bigger problem is the growth differences and height differences... so if you run one big light over 4, well, that might be a pain. you could always run 4 - 150w's over your 4 plants in say a 4x4... 200w in a 2x4 is a little shy of what you need for 3, 3-5z plants.... for a 2x4, depending on the light, you need between 240-320w as general rule of thumb with these new led lights (30-40w per square foot).... you have 8sq/ft..... 2 plants not vegged too much before your flower flip is all you can really do with that light, not 3..... you only get coverage out to 3 feet and 2 feet, and you gotta raise'r up and blast'r at 100% to do that...not ideal..... you have the sf2000 with 301evo chips? Curious how they work next to a cheaper board stacked with 281's and run at lower power? I have some theories about this. You could put anohter 100w light in that 2x4 to really do it right. I kinda think 3, independent 100w lights is best for 2x4. gives you the height control you need to not have to run all 3 lights at 100% all the time.... you end up having to do this with one piece lights... jack'm up high and run it at 100% because different plants grow different heights.. that's all you can do....or get into playing around raising the pot height down on the floor, which is a pain, and you can;t if you use much lst or netting. have fun

It sounds weird, but i like to use them as breeding stock. They can be less predictable on genetics because they tend to only be F1 seeds. But when you find a gem you can breed it then revege it or clone it to be a mother plant of a line that will be easier to make autoflower in the future if that is your goal. I have also found if you keep breeding with photoperiod the auto traits seem to recess. I like this because it gives seeds fast and can be versatile if you want to make a strain both auto and photoperiod as a hobby breeder.

I grew two seedsman Cindy99xBlueberry 'fast' from seed outdoors this summer alongside a few other strains from them. Quality smoke A grade high and taste that stands above all the others. Two phenos expressed themselves both Sativa leaning, kinda larfy compared to space panda and layer cake but that sativa taste and high is a winner. Both plants finished earlier compared the other strains save for the space panda (earliest) one c99xbb finished in late September the other took 2 weeks longer finishing in October, I could have let both of them go longer but I don't think they would have put any more weight on. Yield was below average at about 6-8 Oz per plant, one about 6 ft tall one female was 7 ft trichome coverage was average nothing fancy. But like I said the flavor is wonderful. We grew two of the purple punch f1 fast as well, they performed about the same as the C99xBB the buds were a little tighter purplish and more trichomes they finished in October at about 6ft, yields were light, somewhere around 4 to 6 oz a plant Delicious fruit tastes and soft smoke and pretty potent what's more of a body high. There you have it my friends some feedback from the 'early' strains from seedsman. We grew in sand and used fish products for fertilizer we probably could have fed them more but we wanted to see what they would do we took clones of everything looking forward to getting the most out of them. If we had drier whether we would have had let everything go to full senescence. The C99xBB was prone to powdery mildew attack we had to spray her every couple of days alternating with neem oil in veg and then using hydrogen peroxide and citric acid based Earth's Ally as we got near flowering time. We had a terrible hot humid/wet summer. But survived! Good show happy holidays blessings and Aloha from Michigan

Fast flowering seeds are un-worked autos. There’s a reason very few reputable breeders make fast flowering seeds. When you combine an auto and a photo, the F1 generation is not all “fast flowering”. So you’re buying a pack of seeds where some might flower a bit faster, but others won’t. This is a marketing gimmick that promotes an inconsistent, sus product.
