I got the Cannae Phalanx about 3 weeks ago, And it is AWESOME... I hope Cannae is here to stay and will be making a lot more packs and pouches...

How do you feel about the size of the Phalanx, too big for day hikes? Looking back, would you prefer the Legion size? seems like it could fall into a tweener category, a little bigger than desired for day use but not big enough for multiday trips.

I have two of these packs! Rock solid and crazy comfortable, one set up as patrol go bag, other is hiking camera bag! Works great for everything. Molle webbing is awesome and set up well!

I usually wait until after i watch your reviews to buy any type of pack or pouch but I actually pulled the trigger and bought this pack last week. So far I absolutely love it! I use a Crossbreed holster with the velcro backing in the back pocket and works great. I don't even notice its there through out the day. I also wish i had this when I was in the Navy. For all you salty sailors out there, the pack is completely black on the exterior so you will have no problems wearing it in uniform. Thanks for another great review!

thanks for another video. I was gonna get another 5.11 Rush 12 for hiking in the mountain preserve and up on the woods but now I'm gonna get this one. Love the water bottle sleeves on the sides.

as always, great review Aaron. now, this is the kind of pack that i think would be perfect for me. I'm about 5'10", 150lbs, so the pack is just right for my size. love the layout, especially the clam shell set-up of the main compartment. keep up the good work. looking forward to your future reviews and uploads.

finally got this pack last month. so far its living up to its billing. i have replaced my camelbak pack with this. it carries more than i expected. your review of this pack really helped me out a lot on deciding to purchase it. keep up the good work Aaron. Mabuhay from the Philippines.

I've had my desert tan legion pack for almost 4 years, and it's still holding up strong. I use it almost everyday. Have hiked, camped, used it as a short trip bag full of clothes and toiletries, and have pretty much beat it up. The cordura, aside from being dirty as hell now, is in perfect shape, and the stitching is all pristine. I would, and have recommended this pack to anyone who asks. I had purchased hiking packs in the past, in the $50-$80 range, and they eventually either broke down, or just didn't offer everything I was looking for. The legion pack cost me $100 four years ago. So for $25 bucks a year, I've gotten an edc bag, that is much, much more than just an edc bag

Another great review, GT. I was thinking this would be at least $50 more than you said. This bag is super attractive to my needs and the way I want my packs to look.

Nice to see this pack reviewed as a hiking pack (day) rather than the normal assault pack. Note on the shoulder straps, they are the way there are to allow you to shoulder a rifle with more ease than with other packs that size.

@Cannae Pro Gear, do you have any plans of adding some more color options for the Legion aside from the current black and coyote (wolf gray perhaps)? I just discovered very recently that your packs are available here in the Philippines. I am pretty impressed with Aaron's review and I'm planning to purchase the Legion pack before the end of the year.

That was an awesome example of attention to detail and quality manufacturers practices, I was actually a little surprised seeing the name brand on the inferiorly stitched product. Those guys ask top shelf prices and they should offer products worthy of the price tag.

Great video Aaron. how would you compare this bag to the 5.11 12hr rush? or to any other bag from 5.11? or better yet, do a side by side comparison.

Thanks for the review! I was wondering about this bag. A question about the back support: one of the things I didn't like about the Vanquest IBEX 30 is that it didn't have any type of frame support at all, and it tended to crumble with heavier loads (which I'm prone to carry). Is there any rigid back support to this, and how did it hold up with heavier loads? Max carry weight?
@gideonstactical8 жыл бұрын
I would say 20LBS is a good load, it is similar to other packs like the Ibex in the support area.

I'm a new subscribers but been watching your vids for a long time. Keep up the great work. Can you do a review of cannea optio sling pack?
@genesmith97868 жыл бұрын
I have been back and forth on several backs. the cannea,dragon egg, and the kelty 1800. I luv all three but financially I can't afford several packs for different kits. so I'm looking one pack that can do it all and have a Lil of tactical/hiking too. I luv the conceal area on the cannea and the laser cut on the dragon egg. the kelty I wish had a Lil molle but I could live without if needed. I have decided to go with the kelty for several reason but one is size. I would like a pack that I could use for everyday but also if I wanted to strap on a hammock and head out to the woods for a night I could. having everything I would need and then some.

I am 6ft 3 and nearer 300lbs, have owned this pack since February, the chest strap and belt fits me fine, the chest strap is a little high, but doesn't bother me, it's a great pack, I also own 5.11 rush 12 and various other packs from brands such as maxpedition, prefer this and find it more comfortable!

I like the bag but the elastic on thr dump pouches will weaken up and become loose and floppy like my motherinlaws yaya. the only improvement I feel this pack needs is zips in place of the ilastic on the dump pockets. all packs I own have. had the ilastic straps weaken and stretch, when if I never used them. great video, as always though. have you done a First Tactical 1 day pack review yet?

Hey Aaron. That thread is, in fact the tail of a lock stitch. If you look at some other products that have fairly robust, stitched construction, you'll notice some similar tails, either concealed on the inside, or apparent like this pack, on the outside. It's not an indicator of poor workmanship. The longer tail actually makes that knot less likely to release. [Think of climbing ropes with longish tails in the knots. They're safer that way.]
@gideonstactical8 жыл бұрын
Good info, I am aware of that, most companies hide it they don't. That is what I was getting at. Thanks for the input and for watching. Much appreciated.
