Love that song "Straight Ahead"....!!!....(Second to last song on this album) What an ASS KICKER of a song THAT one is!!!🫡😃🫡😃 I am especially impressed how FLAWLESSLY they all sound off with military like precision....That must have taken a little extra practice to pull that off to sound so perfect.

you can already hear they are a great band but it never got released until 1970 which shows how labels dont have their finger on the pulse cause this is a great record & you hear the bo diddly cover as well.the only thing ill say is bob hites vocals actually got even better & its nice the band carried on & had success after al & bob.but med i have to listen to all their early stuff on analogue mono & stereo lps including live cause live this band bring it.i was sad they lost 2 of their main & vital members so early rip lads you sure brought the heat with fire & a creativity that meant they were more than just blues even though they lived the blues respect & peace...
@djbigleg32283 жыл бұрын
also you notice 2 songs are sort of sang in a 60,s garage way which makes it even more different but still vital listening as are all their original lps.im analogue til i die & im a guitarist so i hate digital vinyl full stop because it cant tell it like it was intended to be heard by the band,s & is totally pointless.but it removes the only format that can actually be true to the original recording which serves the industries goals to get you all buying their inferior mp3,s faster & speed up digital domination.which is why every digital vinyl reissue has criminal multiple overdubs for your so called listening pleasure.all i can say to any canned heat fan unless you have heard canned heat on quality stereo equipment with a decent phono stage you havnt hear the heat who bring the heat in full.great post not a dig at youat all but i will say this uploading it from an analogue source sounds much better than any sacd & you dont get the criminal overdubs so this is how you should hear it if you havnt got it on vinyl & only have the digital option peace...

This album was recorded in 1966 and produced by rhythm and blues legend Johnny Otis. It is unknown for what reasons it was never released in 1966, but the fact remains - this album appeared only in 1970. The album is lively, completely permeated with rhythm and blues hits from the luminaries of the genre (Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker), played without any instrumental show-offs, precisely and clearly putting into the 2-minute song format all that power of style that other musicians never manage to fully reveal in long 15-minute jams. The album lasts exactly half an hour, and here are only 2 original Kennedy Hit tracks, very successfully integrated into the overall drive of the album. So before you have time to put the record on, it is already over. The material is selected very evenly, the record also sounds exactly evenly, as if on one drum beat. And really - nothing superfluous, not a single extra note.

mitchellkarera That's for cooking the spoonful of heroin. The government turned culture makers into addicts. Bush Sr was caught air dropping and running trains full of drugs in Arkansas, that's why Reagan didn't want Bush as VP. Two brothers saw the train, and were killed and then run over. First autopsy said the kids were drugged out and jumped into train. Moms autopsy showed they were killed before the train.

rockville34 That was a bunch of demos cut in 1966 with Johnny Otis producing. Johnny gave the demos to Janus to basically capitalize on the band's success at that moment in time. BTW, that's Al singing "Spoonful" in a lower register (which seemed quite rare even back then).
