one of the reason is they look good, no one sounds like them, the singer was iconic and chariusmatic as heck, does allot of musical acting and mimics that no one, the fewest, can replicate.. and they managed to grow and practise as a band and had likeminded acts comming from the same area, aand by that had enough gravitas to becoma a "seattle" the media just was the result of the existing marked not the other way around.
@dr.juerdotitsgo5119 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Plus they had the funniest lyrics (thanks to Barnes), and they appeared on Ace Ventura. On the music department, they only have two iconic, God-tier albums: Tomb and The Bleeding. Their first couple of years are far from groundbraking (other than album covers), and they have being making the same old safe shite since George joined.

CC in their prime. The Barnes era is some of the best death metal ever written.
@soliderfromtf23 жыл бұрын
I mean there were other amazing death metal bands in that era too. Personally my favorite is cryptopsy from Montreal.

@NinjaDefilerto be fair cryptopsy deserve some credit since they usually get overshadowed by bands like death and autopsy and cannibal corpse

Chris Barnes was such a badass at this point... 25 years old, on tour in Russia having released one of the G.O.A.T. DM metal albums in TOTM the previous year and with the world at his feet. 'Tis a shame he never recorded anything post CC to rival his work with the band.

DAVID GEERLING I know singers older than him who sing far harsher, and their vocals are fine. Smoking destroys vocal chords.
@Joostmans988 жыл бұрын
With death metal, you're not actually singing in a deep voice, but distorting the sound by clenching your throat and pushing out the air with your diaphragm. Vocal cords actually barely play a role with death growls

@@celticluna1691 I don't think it's fully shot. I heard him growl and it sounded good. Seems to me he chooses to sing like he does now to be different and to pioneer something new. Wich isn't working of course.
