He’s not a machine like the current breed of death metal drummers but there is a foundation and style that is undeniably unique to him. That’s much more valuable than sheer technical ability. Sometimes it’s not what you say it’s how you say it…

I know the sound comes from the drummer, more than from the brand of the instruments, but were you playing Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals ? What pedals were you using back then ? I randomly had dinner with him once. It was a Philly pizza shop he liked. It was packed in there. I got my food and looked for a seat, nothing to be found. He saw me, wearing a Benediction shirt, rightfully assumed I was going to the show, and said I could I join him at his table. I refused at first because he was on his time and I didn't want to interrupt that, but he insisted. Insanely chill dude. We barely even spoke music, just life and being a family man. He's a proud father as am I. Very easy to talk to and super stoked on the life he gets to lead because of the fans. Beyond thankful for that opportunity to meet a hero of mine. He has played on some of the best songs ever and helped create one the best bands ever!

A on, widać, że pracuje nad swoją fizycznością, i jej coraz większymi ograniczeniami. Podchodzi do grania poważnie. I jest przede wszystkim przemiłym facetem. He's garbage. As I get older I like them less lol I used to really like him in high school but as a drummer myself he plays the same groove and boring "hammer blast" I feel like hes the Lars Ulrich of death metal drumming getting away with the same sloppy grooves. These are KZbin drumming channels need to do drumming spotlights on drummers like Steve Asheim from Deicide. Old school death metal drummer that's always pushing the limits of his drumming that guy is a beast.
