Barnes wrote the lyrics. Fisher has never written his own lyrics one time. This is Barnes' song. It's not Fishers fault he was invited to play with Corpse and thats what he did. But Chris Barnes and the Chris Barnes era of Cannibal Corpse to me is some of the best death metal ever created.

Some of the lyrics I heard "I lock the only door" "Noone left to kill but myself" and something about sticking a knife in his face. It's unfrtunate nobody knows the lyrics to these tracks.

Mainly the lyrics, I saw an interview here KZbin, Paul used the word "redundant" to describe the lyrical content Barnes had come up with.

I guess the vocals were not a problem but the patterns, the way he distributes the lyrics in the melody. But then, I'm not the right person to say that xD Plus, I guess I'm the only one who prefers Barnes' vocals in Tomb of the Mutilated xD

Some and ppl say they prefer Chris and others prefer Corpsegrinder. Me, I like both, the way i see it is ... Chris: one of the founding fathers in one of the greatest death metal bands out there, more definition of his deep screams, etc. Corpsegrinder: the ability to spit fire the lyrics and keep his screams metal, you can also understand him more than Chris, much more duration in his screams, etc. well you get the point

Chris Barnes is and will always be the best vocalist Cannibal Corpse has ever had. The rest of the guys in the band were just jealous that he was getting all the attention and was actually taking Cannibal Corpse to another level. Barnes was in innovator and is what almost any brutal death metal vocalist tried to sound like. Chris Barnes was BRUTAL with Cannibal Corpse. Fischer is OK, but he is terrible when he tries to sing Chris Barnes' parts. Would LOVE to see Barnes tour with them again!

Totally agree with you. This is so much better with Barnes on vocals. I am so glad someone posted this. Its funny how Fisher comes in and sings Chris Barnes' lyrics. Fisher has never written his own lyrics one time in Cannibal Corpse. He has to focus on doing those gay ass windmills on stage lol

@Tubyubber That's true in a way but if you listen to how Corpsegrind was when he played for Monstrosity he was better in that group. Six Feet Under is terrible compared to classic CC. Then again all of these are opinions so no one is right or wrong.

sure. except fisher screams and this isn't black metal. barnes was an icon in his time. not many death metal vocalist had a demonic sounding growl. and also can scream himself. I think barnes for his time was great compared to fisher now who sounds like most death metal vocalist these days.

imo Barnes lacks vocal diversity, whereas George can do it all, not to mention you can understand a good deal of what he's saying. with Barnes its just a low end growl..eh..it gets old to me. I think George is a better fit for the band.
