Having just done some of this myself today I have stored for many years putting wood on cement then stacking water buckets jars always have a piece of scrap wood between what ever and cement floor as the bucket lets say of food moisture will wick into it and spoil the food now that you have got this far time to raid the garage for wood scraps good job I say

Thanks! We had wood scraps before. Our new shelves are a couple inches off the concrete and mainly just buckets on the bottom shelf :)
