Cannon Beach - A Coastal Paradise | Oregon

Today's travel adventure is a very special one to me. This has to be one of the most incredible beaches I have ever visited! As soon as my father and I witnessed Haystack Rock for the very first time, it took me back to a nostalgic time of growing up watching The Goonies. You must put this beach on your bucket list, because apart from the relaxing sounds of the ocean you can spend an entire week here and be entertained. There are miles of coastal hiking trails around, quaint shopping centers featuring locally-made souvenirs, coffee shops and excellent restaurants.
In today's episode we will begin by checking out of our La Quinta hotel in Portland, and driving a little over an hour and a half northwest to Cannon Beach. We will then hike to the famous "Haystack Rock" formations as well as the tidal pools that surround this geological wonder. You are able to view these pools during low tide which changes periodically throughout the year. Several other aquatic formations knows as "The Needles" can be found to the left of Haystack Rock and make for the perfect photo opportunity.
