That is amazing patience and work that paid off. It should be in a MTB museum somewhere. Take that back. Send it down the hills and mountains and back again.

Thanks! I restore bicycles to ride them, not to handle them with velvet gloves, so the bike's going to do what it was built for.

I own a 1997 Cannondale Super V900SL that I purchased in early 1998 - I still love riding it whenever I get the opportunity. I once had the mono-shock spring bust - Thank God for Buck! Buck fabricated his own spring and repaired my bicycle.

I wanted a bike for New Year’s resolution and now I’m in the rabbit hole of vintage Cannondale bikes! Just picked up a 1996 superV 900 carbon in excellent condition. You are right about seeing a bike like this when I was in grade school and just jaw dropping awesome. Finally have one and will never let it go.

My uncle gave me his having moved to E bikes and knowing it was a teenage dream for me same as you. Decked out with ALL the bling of the day, XTR everything, hellbent, even spin rims. Only trouble is the shocks are blown out and I don't dare wear out the irreplaceable freehubs nor do i wish to replace the shocks with period incorect ones. So once year only I ride it. Just a short ride to the coffee shop, and it never fails to get a stunned response from a 35-70 year old cyclist. One day I intend for my nephew to get it.

I have a 1996 Blue one, all original, mint condition but aged Been wanting to replace the elastomer crap headshok with the oil one off the 2000 and restore it, just too many other projects right now. Beautiful bike, first of a kind for the best design ever.

Do you still have it?

Great job, seeing how well this bike came out is certainly inspiring .I am in the process of rebuilding a '94 Cannondale Delta V 600 and Super V 2000. I also own two other Cannondales '92 M700 and a '04 Jekyll 1000 which both get ridden as much as possible. So keep up the good work and the great videos

Oh man I would love to find one of those!! The prices of older MTB s seem to be going up every day, hopefully I can get something before they are once again out of reach. Y series Treks are on my wishlist as well.
@restorationdotbike3 жыл бұрын
You are correct price-wise. They are indeed going up, especially for more sought after models from Cannondale, GT, Kona and the like. 15 years ago people threw these bikes away so to speak. Hope you can get your Super V.

Dumb question: can't find information of the differences between all the different super v models. For example what is the difference between a v400 and a v900?
@el_michaАй бұрын
Usually with Cannondale the frames are not too different. The higher the number the better the spec (better fork, better and lighter components etc.). Try to find online vintage catalogs of cannondale. Right at the end of the catalogs it got table listing the specs of all models side by side.

there are better restorations in vintage cannondale facebook groups and better choice of components. this is mediocre
@restorationdotbike9 ай бұрын
Because I did this "mediocre" restoration, I came into contact with a shop owner who rebuilt the Headshock. 2 years later I'm currently his partner selling high-end mountainbikes, which can be considered a dream job in my book. I hope you're living your dream as well.

@@restorationdotbike STILL A MEDIOCRE AND BAD TASTE RESTORATION DUDE. LMAO. check the Uber Vs at Pink bike forum. Learn something. "" I did a mediocre restoration went to town and bought a lottery ticket.. I won some thousands.. Thanks to having a mediocre bike to go to town sonowi consider it epic""😂
