I waited 7 years to ask my wife even though she was ready after 1. I just couldnt ask the most amazing woman i ever met to spend her life with me until I had my life completely figured. I wanted to go in with no debt, no questions about my future etc. I was teased a lot at my wedding for taking soo long to ask, after I explained myself in a speech her parents came over to me and told me I was good enough when we met the first time. I'm pretty sure someone behind me was cutting onions just then, lol. I know I rambled a bit but what he said in the beginning really hit home w me. Good man.

I like the effort by this guy and all the thought and preperation that went into his proposal. However, for me, this kind of proposal is so not my taste. It´s way too public - all the people filming this, and people watching and waiting. A proposal is best done in private, I think, with only the two people present - the one proposing and the one hopefully saying yes. Also, he clearly planned a nice day for her, but they basically spent most of the day apart. I assume the gym is a special place for them, but it´s not especially romantic, and the darkness with strong spotlights makes it worse. I hope they danced for a while. And I really hope he said all the special things to her and told her how much he loved her, like he had planned, because in this film, none of that was shown, and the actual proposal was minimalistic. Sorry to be so negative, but every guy watching this looking for inspiration for the perfect proposal, I wanted to say that this guy´s effort shouldn´t be seen as the gold standard of proposals. There are a million other ways to do it. Two things though I think are key: make it personal, and make it private.
