Only just watched this one - I never knew you'd done some filming at my home station of Cheltenham. Good to see how you coped with the ever changing plans - had to redo a few iteneraries on the fly myself over the years!

Great Vlog Simon. I bet it was great to see the 91 move at Patchway with the ROG 57 pulling them. About these LSL coaches it was a bit pointless of them coming to Laira as I think they went back today they did back to Crewe LSL. Stay safe Josh
@Sim0nTrains3 жыл бұрын
That LSL Move does seen a bit pointless but still made a great capture at Bristol Parkway, Thanks Josh's Railway Adventures.

Yet another amazing Vlog Simontrains I bet it was brilliant to see both class 43 sets Cross Country and to Ride on the GWR sets even tho things didn’t go to plan due to problems on the line and to even get the class 90s is always a bonus and the class 37 with the mark 3 coaches some rare but amazing spots good to Carol messing about in the shelter at Patch Way we do like seeing Carol up to no good I look forward to seeing your next railway journey and where you end up until then Simontrains Keep up the good work and stay safe

Thank you Simon, sadly there are days that it doesn't go to plan, it's one of the reason why I do these vlogs, even people like myself can run into a cancelled or delayed train and have to reshuffle everything around.

A bit of a Pete Tong journey, some great captures and pleased you did get to see the class 91's and some HST too.

Thanks Christine's Rail Journeys, it days like this that makes it more interesting.

Not going to lie, I think this video was quite good. Out of all the train movements in here, my favourites were either the shortened HST or the Class 91s, even though I don't like that they're being scrapped. Seeing those rare moves reminds me of a few of the rare things I've seen myself. In particular the time a DX hauled a train to Auckland last year (usually the DXB/DXC/DXR locomotives only run in the South Island). I can certainly relate to things not going according to plan, as I've had that happen myself on a few of my train-spotting journeys. One time my train into Wellington (New Zealand's capital city) got turned back at a station called Porirua and I had to get a bus, which wasn't too much of a hassle because I got to see parts of the city I didn't even know were there.
@Sim0nTrains3 жыл бұрын
Honestly that one of the things about catching a replacement bus or walking in a area you haven't walked before, you see places from different sides you don't usually see, There is a video going to be air this Sunday (6th June)... well there will be two videos posted that day since I shall be posting Rugeley Power Station getting knocked down as well. But Sunday video will have a change of plan again like in this video. Thanks The Trainspotter From Tauranga

@Sim0nTrains3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael, those Class 800s are cracking good units. the GWR do have some amazing stations and that being honest.

Awesome Part 2 Simon! Despite cancellations and problems with overhead equipment, I believe you've made a good recovery plan and still managed to get some specials in, Spottin at Cheltenham Spa now are we lol! I look forward to your next video as always!

Yes, Cheltenham Spa wasn't planned but added it in for the hell of it, Thanks TicoSprinter.

Great vlog Simon. Great movements! Shame about the cancellations and delays. 5 trains were cancelled on my recent trip, thankfully it didn’t matter as the freight movement I was after was running late so I would of missed my train regardless of it was running. Can’t believe you had a walk I probably would of been lazy and got a taxi or bus lol. Shame about Newport!

Sounds like you had a long and painful day Simon. Did you get any delay repays back at all? Those Mk3s never got used in the end. They went back to Crewe today. Good you managed to see the 57/91 scrap move.
@Sim0nTrains3 жыл бұрын
I sent a delay repay to CrossCountry as it was a e-ticket but heard nothing from them yet but it was a shame about those MK3 coaches not being used, it does seen they had a wasted trip but still a great capture, thanks Jacob's Rail Adventures.

Is Patchway really in Gloucestershire or is it in Bristol and was in Gloucestershire before. As its also near to Avonmouth. Network Rail should of continued with the electrification from Cardiff Central to Swansea.
@Sim0nTrains3 жыл бұрын
Patchway is in South Gloucestershire and it's not quite near Avonmouth and honestly it is a shame that the electrification got cut back to Cardiff but that one good thing about having trains running on two different power.
@Andrewjg_893 жыл бұрын
@@Sim0nTrains Indeed. I still think that the electrification to Swansea could still happen. Same with the electrification to Market Harborough. And possible electrification from Didcot Parkway to Oxford. Maybe in 10-15 years time.
