Wilde Maus originally opened in 1995, but it was converted into Wilde Maus XXL in 2012. This new version doubled the height, which allows the cars to carry way more speed through the layout. This is both the world's best wild mouse and the world's best traveling coaster. Find out why in this review!

I just went on this a few hours ago and I can proudly say this is the best travelling coaster like you said! The drop at 6:15 is ABSOLUTELY insane! That sharp turn followed by that drop is THE most intense drop I’ve been on and yes, I’ve been on coasters with beyond-vertical drops. Great review!

It's like Wilde Maus XXL is to wild mice what the Great Nor'Easter is to Vekoma SLC's; taking a commonly cloned coaster that's not very memorable in most cases, and turning it into a one-of-a-kind high-end coaster that gives an unforgettable experience.

I can't help but be tickled because I remember when my favourite coaster was the Hershal Monster Mouse in the late 70s at Playland in Vancouver because I was too small to ride "Coaster" until I was at least 8 years old if not 9. I am SO glad I got a go on this (front row) a few years back (8 I think if I count). I had to go out of my way but once I saw it existed, I WENT out of my way. I couldn't do this now at 50, I find the laterals a bit too much for my ageing back. I am tall but reasonably lanky and had the equivalent of a sumo next to me (a big German in other words LOL). Mike is spot on, it's the best mouse for sensations and I did get a couple spots of good airtime myself which I wasn't expecting. It really does look unnatural in person. The only thing I liked nearly as much was Blackpool's now gone mouse as that thing was just full speed ahead in the old wooden style. Surprisingly, we have two good mice in Australia. The one in Sydney is also the old wooden style and is set atop a building so is high near the water. Scooby Doo at movie world is great because it's a wild mouse ghost train and the first part during the laterals is all untrimmed and last time I rode it the trims were mild for the whole thing even after the hairpins. If that is ever converted to spinning cars it would be mental. Standard Mack size but in the dark with lasers and a full ghost train prelude before you get on the vertical elevator. I duck every time we dip under the swinging axes LOL. It has the main drop backwards but you don't really get any airtime as it's too slow entering and existing cause of the turntables immediately before and after, and then you just have the usual couple of smaller dips. Still, it's a great attraction. Great review Mike!

This thing looks amazing. I doubt I would love it, because I don't like the shared lapbars on wild mouse, such as the wild mouse at lagoon. They make the laterals super uncomfortable, and you have to ride defensively to avoid getting thrown into the center bar.

That doesn't bother me, but I can see how it could bother others.

My favourite drop tower ever was TOT in Florida when it had a single row shared lap bar. The airtime was mental as there was always an American riding much bigger than me. I feel the same about coasters, buzz bars or single position shared lap bars are the way to go. However, variety makes the world go around and I respect your opinion. I do understand the laterals being too intense, I am old now and feel that way about this particular mouse, but luckily I did get one ride in my early 40's so I will always cherish it.

My favourite wild mouse to date is the one at Europa park and this one looks so much better. Another wild mouse that doesn't trim all that much is the one at Bobbejaanland. The breaks in the first section of hairpin turns don't hit at all so you get insane laterals. But this one looks like a combination of the one at Europa mixed with the trims of the one in Bobbejaanland on steroids.
