One of these days I'll have to pony up and take the family to Discovery Cove. It looks fantastic. This lagoon reminds me of the snorkling area at the Cayman Island Sea Turtle Center in Grand Cayman.

I've gone snorkeling before, including in the Cayman Islands with rays just like in this video. The underwater world is very fascinating. That's why I started scuba diving two and a half years ago. You might enjoy it to if you like this sort of thing.

No worries, they remove all the barbs from the rays. The big issue is not stepping on them. They really are everywhere!

Learning time! These rays are cownose rays (the smaller ones) and spotted eagle rays (the bigger ones). My brother is a scuba diver, he's met real manta rays in the wild and they are absolutely immense, they wouldn't fit into that pool! As for me: I love the underwater world as much as anyone, but I'm happiest on dry land! Give me an aquarium any day.

Beautiful encounter! If you can't scuba, an good aquarium will work too. Given the price to go to the Cayman Islands, the Great Reef, or Nassau this is likely the cheaper alternative.

I love Discovery Cove. My family has gone a couple of time. Last time we rented a cabana on the Grand Reef and it was gorgeous. Per TripAdvisor it had been one of the highest rated attractions for years. It is across the street from SeaWorld. They give you the wetsuits. Also is all inclusive, breakfast, lunch & drinks. They really make you feel like you just arrived at your excursion destination while on a vacation. From the lobby check-in process to the grand reveal after walking the path from the lobby. Plus it is reservation only so crowds are limited. Lastly, if you are SeaWorld or Busch Gardens passholder you can get up to 30٪ discount. Cool idea for a vid... compare passholder programs. I think that would be a cool video.
