It is best to wear a mask if you are sanding fiberglass. The particles stay in you lungs for life and can cause health problems. Thanks for the informative video

Usually a little DeepWoods Off, but that only helps a bit. Really boils down to a mindset. You have to accept the fact that you are going to get bit up a bit. Mosquitoes really don't bother me much anymore, its the little sand flies that bite your ankles while you are paddling that can get to me after a while. That being said on portages make sure you have at least one hand free to defend yourself from the mosquitoes. One interesting thing I've noticed personally is that the bites don't itch the entire time I'm out in the woods. It isn't until I get home and take my first hot shower that they really begin to itch.
