Excellent review. The 40 was the first I bought 2 years ago, cause I wanted to try a prime. Recently I tried to shoot different motives, and nothing seemed to work. Bought the 50 first, and 3 weeks later the 24. I love all of them and they improved my pictures drastically. I never use the kit lens again, as it just garbage and gave me so bad results, that I almost quit photography as a hobby.

I don't have the 28mm, just the 50 and 40mm. There is no doubt, at least on my lenses, the 50mm is sharper and has better focus than the 40mm. Because I've been so disappointed with the 40mm, I'm selling it on Ebay. I really wanted to like the 40mm, but after using the 50mm STM lens, I'm spoiled. I use it on both full frame and crop. I can't believe how sharp the 50mm is. I had several missed shots with the 40mm. Just one person's opinion of course.
