The level of detail for being a 1080p video is absolutely insane. Just needs high frequency sharpening in a 4k timeline and it would match compressed 4k perfectly. This could seriously work perfectly for wedding videos.

Hey man , this looks great! Do you know what’s the different between 14bit and 14bit lossless?
@shueibdahir8 ай бұрын
Nothing. They look and function exatcly the same. Canon's CR2 RAW photos use the lossless method aswell. You'll notice the biggest difference in 10bit modes but personally i'd never shoot anything in 10bit

I like the footage, but it does look a little soft tbh...are you able to get tack sharp?
@juliengarbani19363 жыл бұрын
That's not the purpose. The main goal of using ML is that you can record Raw footage, full frame images at 1080p and cropped at 4K simply from a ten years old DSLR camera.

which sd card did you use.. and is it possible to record in cinema dng.. I'm trying to record and I keep getting Frame skipping.. and I don't see any cinema dng files when I open from my computer... I'm using the sands Extreme Plus 128gb 150mb/s SD card.. I can't find any tutorial of the latest magic lantern for the 5d mark iii. :( Beautiful video btw keep it up the beautiful work!
@juliengarbani19365 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! It is recommended to use a 1066x/160MB/s CF card, better results with a 128GB storage capacity. To convert your Magic Lantern files into DNG files you can easily search among a lot of magic lantern forums or tutorials on youtube, it would be quite too long to write it here. I've downloaded and I'm running the experimental build magic lantern-crop rec 4K at the moment, you can shoot at 10 bit lossless without recording interruptions on 3.5K resolution. I hope this will help you, if you need more advices just fell free to ask me again. I can suggest you to download a very helpful and very well done guide to install and run Magic Lantern on the 5D mk III from here: www.eoshd.com/2017/09/the-eoshd-5d-mark-iii-3-5k-raw-shooters-guide/

@@juliengarbani1936 thank you for the replay and the advices I really appreciate. I managed to film in raw but only in 1080p and the weird thing is I see vertical lines on my videos... you can take a look on my video test here is a link of of it.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYTJhYaknsyVg9U I will take a look at your link. let me know if you ever faced this situation on your camera while filming in raw...

Did you record at 24 fps or more? This will change a lot. The EOSHD raw shooters guide will tell you why and how to set your camera to shoot with better results also at 50 or 60 fps. I don't know if this is your case but I can't tell in any other way what's your problem with vertical lines without other infos.

Hi Julien very impressed by the video Just wondering your export settings to get optimal youtube video quality? Struggling to achieve anywhere near this picture quality when uploading to KZbin. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks! I think I exported in 422 HQ ProRes bitrate with DaVinci, or maybe in 4444 ProRes, that was a year ago...

Can you share the workflow after recording on MLV clips, what were the steps for working and montage and did you use the lut file?
@juliengarbani19363 жыл бұрын
I made the DNG files (you can do that with the MLV App) and imported them in Davinci Resolve where you can edit them easily, otherwise from Davinci you can export the DNG as Apple Prores files to edit them in Final Cut or Premiere. In this case I used a Lut as mentioned in the video description.

LOL, it looks like fucking 35mm film, like a good quality KODAK roll, thats what it looks like, the shaking when you focus even makes it more authentic. In fact, if you said it was shot on 35mm, I would believe you!
