I'm surprised when I came to the shop to test out the 28-70mm STM it was sharper than RF 24-105mm F4L which is a great deal for an STM lens, makes it punch above its grade with weather sealing too.

Would it be possible to craft an adapter with an image resizer ring to resize the image received from the lens to fit the entire sensor, instead of cropping? If we use a full frame camera with an APS-C, Micro 4/3 or a C-mount security camera lens, we could rotate to enlarge the "projected" image to the full sensor and likewise, decrease the size from a full frame lens to the smaller sensor. I don't know if that affects the depth of field, but would be interesting to see. This would allow a larger variety of lenses and experimentation. If we add a Fisheye or Anamorphic adapters on the taking lenses, we could get rid of the vignette that way.

This lens could be unavoidable if the price of this lens is fixed at under 1000 USD or at 999 USD.
