This is a great help, thanks; I had to open mine too; there was fungus inside; I noticed that the previous owner had worked on it before since there were only 3 screws instead of the six I saw in your clip; are you able to share the specs of the screws with me so that I can order a new set? your help would be greatly appreciated, brgds Jean

Fantastic video, Is this process exactly the same for the mkii version? just noticed some how my brand new 24 105ii I have had around a year but never actually used has come with a big dust spot right in the center on the front element. I heard that canon do not class this under warranty for repair, so it looks like I'm going to have to have a go myself.

You only remove the front element… the more important part would be how to get behind the back element.

Most of the dust is between the first and the second lens element. If you have to clean the lens element deeper than that, then there are complete disassembly videos on my channel of this lens which you can use to clean all of the lens elements.
