This tutorial is a must see for any beginner or someone who knows the definitions of ISO, shutter speed.. but doesn't know what they really do! Thanx again :)

It took me a while to learn this stuff! I wish someone explained it like this from the beginning! One of the best tutorials I have ever seen and I will certainly recommend it to my friends! Well done! Oh, and a question: is there a numerical rule of thumb here? i.e. a way to calculate the best f stop for a particular exposure in manual mode? That would be really helpful!

@steveohim Hey there, it really depends on you, the photographer, on how you want the photograph to turn out. The light metering system is a guide. You might want the scene darker or brighter, with different depth of fields focusing on different parts of the photograph. Best is to experiment and see which setting you prefer and suits your style the most. Let us know how you go. The Canon team.

Of those choices, I'd go with the 15-85mm zoom and 50mm f1.8 combo. The zoom is a great general purpose 'walkaround' lens that also has a good wide angle range for landscapes, and the 50mm f1.8 will do portraiture brilliantly.

What a joke is this video? He never even showed the actual in-camera light meter in actual application.
