I got mine on Dec 23, It works well with the Sigma 18-35mm but with some vignetting, some crop lenses without protuberance at the end work, some can be modified to work, ideal to recover the loss because of the 4K-UHD crop, great quality.
@freddysolano58355 жыл бұрын
But it cant do 60 fps why?
@RodrigoPolo5 жыл бұрын
@@freddysolano5835 I guess that reading the whole sensor and then doing a line skipping (or pixel binning) vs. reading only the 4K sensor area and then resampling the image, take a toll on the processor, thus, consuming more battery and heating the camera, but it is only a guess. Canon has a different ideology when it comes to building cameras, they focus first on reliability, over being on the bleeding edge of tech.

The the fish eye effect of the full sensor vignette is actually a really cool look and I agree with your 1x1 framed content. I could also see some interesting creative potential of using the that combination for a dynamic POV perspective for some dramatic shots, the DoF really sells the look. @xkben905 жыл бұрын
I think there’s a heat/processor limitation to the math. Most 4K hybrid cameras ARE cropped. For example, the GH5, Sony A6400, and XT3 are “uncropped” in 4K but they are cropped sensors to begin with. People tend to forget this fact so easily. A7III DOES have uncropped 4K, but it maxes out at 100mb/s, which is sure to leave you wanting more when you color grade or denoise. The EOS R, although cropped, records at 480 mb/s (5x the detail). Panasonic’s S series seems to be the best 4K but even that is cropped I heard. Not to mention, they are THE BIGGEST in size. So the main point is: everything requires a sacrifice, whether people want to admit it or not.

For KZbin, 4k isn't a significant enough jump in quality to warrant most of the hassle that comes with it. The only nice thing is if you want to play with the framing it is great to have the extra resolution. For professional work though, most clients are requiring 4k now that it is becoming more and more mainstream.

Not necessarily, 4k uploads have a higher bitrate on YT vs 1080p uploads
@BalaKrishna-bq5iz5 жыл бұрын
You probably never watch KZbin anywhere other than your phone. Coz if you do, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't say that. Takes me fraction of a second to tell whether a video isnt 4k on my TV. The difference is huge. Its almost 2020, no excuses for sub 4k.
@DylanKJohnson5 жыл бұрын
@@BalaKrishna-bq5iz I completely disagree, and no I primarily watch KZbin on a 4k monitor. You shouldn't assume what people watch on but instead look at the video stats. The difference is hardly noticeable and, as I said, isn't significant enough to warrant the additional hassles that comes with it. If you want the advantage of a higher bit rate just export your timeline in 4k and there is literally almost no difference between 1080p and 4k footage. Saying that everything needs to be 4k "because it's almost 2020" is pure idiocy. The majority of people who use the platform don't have 4k monitors/tv's/ect so 4k means nothing to them. Content rules not quality. I would even argue that audio quality is far more important than video quality which completely negates your argument.
@DylanKJohnson5 жыл бұрын
@@BrandonLuckain I never said anything about exporting/uploading. If your system can handle the extra rendering requirements and you have the storage you should definitely export in 4k to take advantage of the additional bit rate when possible.

Dylan K Johnson audio quality? Where did that come from. No one here is pitting audio vs video. You might “completely disagree” from your “4K monitor” but that doesn’t objectively change anything. I’m sure 1080 looks fine to you but I’m pretty used to 4K and I can immediately tell, sometimes to the extent of ruining the experience. You shouldn’t assume what is noticeable to other people. This isn’t 2012 still, 4K smart TVs have become pretty common. Forget huge TVs...I’ve had this discussion with my friends on a 5, 6 Inch phone screens. Some of my friends were just fine and dandy with 720p video streams on their phones but once they upgraded the phones and got used to 1440p, they can’t go back.Tech never goes back, shooting PRIMARILY in 1080 and purchasing a camera based on that in 2020 is just dumb.

@lzuo83323 жыл бұрын
You get more light. I have EF-S 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 and EF 16-35mm F4L. The latter with Metabones speedbooster gives me up to two stops of more light for cropped modes, 4K or stills. The pictures look better too because of both more light and the fact that EF 16-35mm F4L is a much better lens than the EF-S lens. Of course, the downside is you have to pay more for this better result.
@lzuo83323 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, I can even use this booster with the EF-S 10-18mm from 12mm and up, getting an even wider angle of 8.5mm to 12.8mm with one stop more light!

The last comment about EF-S 10-18mm is based on a post on DPReview (www.dpreview.com/news/8333895059/metabones-new-ef-rf-speed-booster-reduces-canon-eos-r-4k-crop-factor). I just checked it with my own lens and speedbooster and found out they do not fit. It looks like it will fit if you remove some of the extra plastic on the lens. Mine is very new, so I suppose the earlier version that poster has didn't have this extra plastic? Anyway, too bad KZbin does not give me an option to delete the last comment (or I just couldn't find it).
