Love the review guys. Hearing him say he doesn’t get over heating. Is awesome considering so many people say otherwise. But a few say they don’t. Oh and the 45 Megapickle! Had rolling…😂

I waited (not so patiently) for an entire year to buy this canon eos r5. By the time I got it, 1.40 firmware just dropped. I believe it was worth the wait and not jump on it day one. Now, I have the eos R and R5 in my bag with a range of amazing RF glass and I can't be happier with this purchase. Except the fact that CF express is extremely expensive 😒

Hi Connor. Another great video! Please may I ask... Which camera do you prefer for skin tones; the X-T4 and the EOS R5? Thanks!!

Ahhh so torn on buying this camera, not sure what to do -- this video says there isn't any overheating issues when even filming music videos but then you have commenters saying that there are still overheating issues. Ugh. I'd need to film 4k 60 (and 120 occasionally) on and off to put together social media promos and highlight / recap videos as well as the photo work I do simultaneously. It would reaalllyyy suck to get stuck with an overheated camera on a job....

Nice vid. I have the C70 and R5. Surprised you didn't talk about the firmware update and 8k raw with a Ninja5+. That makes the R5 a killer.

That was really helpful. Thanks. I just couldn’t decide between the Sony a7iii and the canon r5 as a mostly video setup. But also need to shoot fotos sometimes in high resolution. On paper it was clear what to choose. But the overheating was such an issue…until now.
@JaxAndTheBeatFox3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the conversation but it's all quite subjective... I use the r5 professionally and had a shoot this week where I was recording primarily to the ninja 5 and did 2 4k 100 shots internal and it immediately overheated and shutdown. Granted we were shooting a restaurant kitchen and it was hot. But 2 shots?? Thankfully I come prepared with a backup... In my opinion the problem remains and it's naive to say it's no longer an issue with the firmware updates, and you have to use a lot of work arounds for it to be a reliable professional tool. Curious to know what settings you are shooting on and how you've avoided any overheating in all your experience.

I believe he hooks a battery plate to the bottom of his cage and uses a dummy battery. Armando has a video of how he uses it with his Sony. Maybe go check that out.

Oof hard to say. You might consider picking the R5 up now and then selling it later if they release something else you like more

Bro the Fuji xt4 is dope. But it overheats at 4k 60fps… after like 10 min in an air conditioned house…. Amazing camera truly. But man the overheating is a huge issue especially when using ibis…. If they can fix this issue somehow I would 100% use it as my hybrid. But if it’s overheating in my 70 degree house then it clearly needs to be brought back to the drawing board.

Can someone please tell me why my Canon R5 is overheating even when attached to the Ninja V? There are no memory cards in, and I wasn't even recording. I'm sitting at my desk in my cool house, watching youtube videos like this one to help me set this thing up with my camera. The Ninja V was the reason I decided to go with the R5. Everyone says that the Ninja V solves the overheating problem but my R5 is still overheating. What am I doing wrong?

@@Immersive-ambition-archives Yeah I posted that comment 6 mos ago and still don't have an answer. Since then, the R5C has come out. You can buy it for the same price as I paid for my R5 and now I'm kicking myself.
@MikeMena3 жыл бұрын
I’m still not regretting my R5, I really wanted to move to Sony …but it was oddly more expensive because I need a good photo camera too. So I couldn’t get a7siii alone. for now I’m trapped in cranon. I use ninja v to avoid overheating. Sucks that I can’t just trust my R5 to get video jobs done cuz I do long talking head stuff, over 1-2 hours. R5 still overheats around 1hr after all the updates, including yesterdays.
@ConnorMcCaskill23 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting! I suppose it makes sense that it still overheats after extended use. The Atoms seems like a decent work around though. Depending on the type of photography you're doing, the Sony A7sIII could still work for you. It may not be super great for large prints and such, but for promotional social media content, it seems fine to me.
@MikeMena3 жыл бұрын
@@ConnorMcCaskill2 yea I think that a7siii could def have worked for my photog, BUT, one of my favorite things to do, partly for fun but also has "saved" quite a few photos is cropping in. I don't wanna sell the high resolution too much (cuz i think a sharp lens and good technique are more important to be able to crop in, or else you'll just be cropping into blurry photos lol), but yea, alot of it is just for fun, specifically my amateur-ass bird photog lol Ultimately tho, it pisses me off that a $4000 camera can't record for more than an hour... and I don't believe it's a real problem either, just cranon hammer time!

Lol yup! The Cranon cripple hammer strikes again

dont switch! :/. I actually sold all my fuji gear, got the canon R and, sold all my canon gear again and went back to fuji. what a waste of time money! I dont need a lot of eye autofocus. so depends on your needs and lenses. 50/1.2 is my main reason (original Canon Rebel Xs guy) to get a canon body again. one day…. but not urgent. maybe fuji will get smart and release the 33/f1 lens - like they PROMISED!!

The R5 is such a good camera, but I find myself using the XT4 more as my hybrid camera - probably due to the size and portability. However, I do primarily commercial print work (window displays, end caps, etc) and ended up selling the R5 for a GFX 100s. There’s just something about fujifilm that resonates with me.
