Hi Kerri, thank you so much for your nice comment. That is exactly why we are timing the video the way it is. For those viewers who find it a bit too slow (or too fast), there is an option to speed up the video by pressing the gear icon of the KZbin player and adjusting the playback speed.

Set Drive mode to Timer 2 seconds for longer exposures. That way you dont get camera shake blurs from you pushing the shutter.

If the number of shots is set to 5, and the exposure range is +/- 2EV, does that mean each shot will be 2 EV from the previous one? Or does it mean the total range of the 5 shots will be +/- 2EV?
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR 5 ай бұрын
Your former assumption is right. Each exposure will be 2 EVs apart from the previous, spanning the whole range of 5 photos across 8 EVs.

If it's in manual mode, which control is altered to change the exposure? (I.e., the shutter, the aperture, or the ISO?)
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR 5 ай бұрын
In manual mode, the shutter speed will be varied. If the ISO or aperture changed there would be a visual difference between the photos, like sensor noise (ISO) or depth of field (f-stop).

Can you teach me how to save those settings in one of the c1,c2 or c3 so I can use the camera without the brackets when I want to shoot normally? thank you
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR Күн бұрын
Hello @BrunaFirkins, Sure, I can do that: - Set up the AEB as in this video - Select an ISO setting, and f-stop value - For the middle exposure choose a shutter speed value that roughly suits your common scenarios - Open the main menu (Menu button) - Navigate to the fifth tab (wrench icon), then to page 5 - Navigate to 'Custom shooting mode (C1-C3)' - Enter it (Set button) and select 'Register settings' - Select one of the three entries 'Custom shooting mode: Cx' and press Set to save the current setup to it - Make sure that 'Auto update set.' is set to Disabled - Press the 'Menu'- button to leave the menu To restore one of the custom shooting modes to the camera, and use it, turn the mode dial to one of the three C1, C2, or C3 positions.

I must have a setting wrong as it will not allow me to move those 2 arrows at the same time ... I can only under/over exposure with one arrow . That second row is shaded ...I am in Manuel mode
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR 2 ай бұрын
Hello @mimib1450, AEB is not available in flash photography or bulb exposures, or with Multi-Shot Noise Reduction, HDR mode, focus bracketing, or when the electronic shutter is set. Try checking if one of these settings is enabled, or activated.

Good tutorial! I tried this with the interval timer; the first three exposures after hitting the shutter button were recorded. On subsequent timer pictures (one minute), only one photo was recorded.
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR 5 ай бұрын
@frontyparker5912 Usually, this should work. If previous images are saved simultaneously when the next timeout strikes, the camera takes fewer pictures. Or the camera's Auto Focus setting is set to On, and the camera doesn't find focus after the first shot. Try MF and focus in advance or use AF single.

Clearly explained - a model of how it should be done. Question: do you have to use Manual Mode or can you use others such as Aperture Priority or even Programme?
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR Жыл бұрын
Hello ferrocene9, Many thanks for the nice comment. Yes, you could use Aperture Priority as well. The P mode however is not suited for automatic exposure bracketing. It changes the ISO, and you have no control on the aperture which usually is required for maximal sharpeness or artistic requirements.

My R6 Mark 2 finally arrived and I've gone through the process described on the video. I wish other people who create "How To" videos would take a leaf out of your book and produce something which has all the facts clearly explained and demonstrated with arrows and circles pointing to the dials in question. I am sick of other "How To" saying "Hey Guys" every few seconds and interspersing their instructions with feeble, unfunny and unnecessary attempts at humour. Your videos are a model of how it should be done. Question: when using Photomatix to process Raw files, does it take into account any changes that were made in Adobe Camera Raw/Lightroom? I assume not...
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR Жыл бұрын
@@ferrocene9 Yes, when using the Export to Photomatix plugin from Lightroom, all changes you made in Lightroom are taken into account. Lightroom renders all development settings into the files before exporting them to Photomatix. Later in the process, Photomatix reimports the resulting image into the Lightroom library, provided this option was activated. However, when using the Photomatix standalone app and loading Raw files the development settings are not included, because Photomatix doesn't make use of Lightroom's edits made to Raw files within Lightroom. Good to hear about your new camera. I wish you lots of fun and photography occasions with it.

Hi Kathy, Depending on which screen is showing as the default on your camera you might need to push the Info button more than once to get to the quick control screen. Then remember to press Q once, when the screen is looking similar as at 2:10 to turn it from an info screen to an interface, that lets you adjust the values.

Hi camadamedia, When the aperture changes during bracketing the camera might be set to shutter priority Av or P. Please double-check and make sure the mode is set to M (or at least Av). See 0:35 for that.

@@camadamedia6728 The only cause I can think of now is a RAW setting like Dual Pixel RAW, or the camera is in a certain mode that prevents the shutter speed from working as expected. Just so you know, I have no access to the camera anymore.

Hi @anilfarhan7697, Yes, certainly we do reply ;-) You can enable Focus Bracketing in the main menu > Shooting (red pages) > page 5. However, if it let you do exposure bracketing at the same time is out of my knowledge. For Focus Bracketing the lens requires to be set to AF, not MF.

Does the cannon R6 save all 3 photos ? I have the rp and it only saves 1.
@PhotomatixHDR
@PhotomatixHDR Жыл бұрын
Hi Dalton, Yes, it does usually, and the RP is supposed to do it as well. We've made a video on the AEB settings for the Canon EOS RP... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoKreq2nlNmMh5Y However, I suspect another setting causing the behavior you described. - Check if the drive mode is set to HighSpeed Continuous At 3:45 of the aforementioned video, you can watch how to set the drive mode. - Disable Auto Focus or set it to One Shot - Make sure the HDR shooting mode isn't activated. This setting results in only one merged and processed photo, even though you'd expect several exposures. In the advanced user manual on page 171 you'll find how to do it: gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300033693/02/eosrp-ug2-en.pdf

Hello Mike, Good questions! Setting up the Self-Timer: 1. Press the Info button then the Q button to enter the quick control menu 2. Navigate down to the Drive Mode icon, like at 3:31, but don't stop at the frames icon with an "H+" 3. Instead turn the Main dial further to the right until the icon is showing a tiny remote next to a scale with a small "2" 4. Press the Q button then the Info button to exit the quick control menu Settings for Real Estate There is a video where I show how to set up the camera: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6nFmn-gZciFhLs - Set the Mode dial to M or Av - Set ISO as low as possible i.e. 200 to 400 (depending on light conditions you'll need to increase even more unless you use a tripod which enables long shutter speeds) - Aperture: f/11 or f/16 - Set Auto Focus mode to Single Shot - Set the Focus point to something in the foreground or middle ground - Shutter speed: this will be the variable you are going to measure. It depends on the available light in the interior.

I am wondering how to move the exposure box to change where you start your AEB. For instance, if you have it on a dark part of the photo it will make all 3 too bright, or if you set it to the window or a bright spot it will all be too dark. How can you move the exposure box without changing the focus when shooting for your flash exposure? On my mark 3 I would set the focus, turn the camera focus off then move my exposure box depending on if I was shooting my flash exposure or my brackets. I am wondering how to accomplish this with this r6 camera.
@john_norris
@john_norris Жыл бұрын
@@anniegarner4690 I am a landscape photographer and achieve this by enabling back button focus. This separates the process of focusing from light metering and taking the shot. It allows you to select a focus point with your multi control stick and AF-On button without changing the exposure values. The shutter button no longer focuses when pressed, but it does evaluate for exposure when half pressed and takes the shot when fully pressed. There are plenty of video guides on YT that explain how to enable back button focus on the R5 and R6. I hope that helps.
