Biggest mistake Canon made when they introduced the R7 as the 7D mk 2 replacement was no grip plus most R7 users are not interested in video as it's basically a wildlife/ bird camera

I assume you mean more for ergonomics because my R7 blows away my R5 in terms of battery life. I’m looking forward to what the MKII has to offer for us wildlife shooters. Time will tell, we’re just guessing at this point.

@ronrotunno2901 sorry yes. I have large hands and I really struggled just to hold the R7 . I actually ended up getting the R6 mk2 and battery grip.

That’s a fair point. Many photographers prefer a grip for better handling, especially for wildlife photography, so it’s understandable why the lack of one would be disappointing.

@@ronrotunno2901 You're right about the R7's battery life; it can be a game changer for long shoots. It'll be interesting to see how the MKII improves ergonomics while keeping that impressive battery performance!

Ahhh... speak for yourself. I use video with all my client on my R7 and they love it.

Like another person stated this camera should not even include video it should strictly be a still camera like the one it replaced the ( 7 D MkII ) that camera was a true dedicated still photo camera not too many people did video with this camera and that's how it should be with this wildlife camera for Christ sakes Canon put a vertical grip on this camera .

We can only wish, but don't hold your breath, canon sees no profit in what we need as birders.
