CANON EOS T100 FOCUS WHILE RECORDING | HOW TO | AUTO FOCUS CANON EOS 4000D

Short video showing how to adjust the focus while recording using a Canon EOS T100 / Canon EOS 4000D
This is something I was trying to figure out when getting started since I am new to filmmaking and figured others may have the same question. Hope this video helps - Also good for setting focal length on your camera so you can smoothly transition in and out of focus while recording.

Hi great tutorial, Question can i auto focus in video mode with out having to press the shutter button Ie filming in a gimble hand held and not toich the camera? I have a eos 600d cannon Any help appreciated

Thanks for giving us this tip, but i have a bit of a problem, while pressing the shutter during taking the video it changes brightness of the video, i mean its like it doesn't only do focusing but also the brightness of the video is affected, why so? Is my camera have a problem or it's just in the setting? Please let me know🥺🙏

I think it's because the software tries to give light to its eyes so it can focus. but this is exactly my question too... Is there a way to stop it? Should I upgrade to mirrorless so I get better software?? Someone answer please!! Thanks in advance!

Sorry super late response, hopefully you found your answer already...but yes it automatically records in 1080p @ 30 fps but you are able to change this by switching the camera to record mode and clicking the menu button, then you can click to the right to go to the second record menu tab and at the top you can change the "Movie Rec. Size" Available options are: 1920x1080 @ 30 fps 1920x1080 @ 24 fps 1280x720 @ 60 fps 640x480 @ 30 fps

Hey! i just recently got this camera with a sandisk ultra 90mb/s 32gb. For some reason when im recording, it automatically stops after around 10 minutes. please let me know if there's anything i can do about that if you have any info! i havent been able to find any videos with this exact camera. thank youuu

Unfortunately that’s something I’ve run into as well. I’ve found that this camera can only record about 10 minute videos before automatically stopping. Might be to keep it from overheating or something but pretty sure it’s just designed that way

what if you want to record yourself from a distance to long for you to reach the shutter button? I have the Canon Connect App on my iphone, but it onlt works for photos, not videos. Any tips would be appreciated.

Not the most ideal situation but since the app doesn’t work for video what I have done in the past is set an object like a pillow or something up the same distance I’m going to be standing then focus the camera on that before standing in frame

There is no speaker built into the camera, so after you record the video you have to either upload it to your computer or phone and then you can hear the audio :)
