This video was a fun watch! I loved seeing the deer up close. The 8K footage looks stunning, even on my regular screen. Thanks for sharing your insights and making it all so relatable. Looking forward to more of your content and Merry Christmas!

Those deer - amazing shots of them. Something otherworldly seeing them running through the cemetry. Interesting lens review as well. Live the 24-105 and the 70-200 f4 as well

@@gavinBsussex it’s pretty amazing to get that close them and not startling them.

Yeah, good video! Snow is fun when you do not have to get from point A to point B for work. I have these three lenses and I could not be happier. For walking around, the 70-200 mm f4 is much lighter than the f2.8 version. I have an f2.8 as well, but I tried lugging it around a zoo one day, and my muscles were screaming after 6 hours. The RF 14-35 f4 and the RF 24-105 f4 are both underrated. Nice videos. I have to explore the video side of things with the R5M2.

@@KatieF307 Thank you! The 70-200 F4 is amazing. Brought it to Mexico last yr and it was so light to travel not to mention it shrinks down very small for packing. I don’t own the 2.8 version. Besides the extra stop of light can you tell a big difference in image quality compared to the f4?
@KatieF30716 күн бұрын
@@JaredHoyman I asked myself this very question. I evaluated both versions and I could not really tell any tangible difference. One of the stores that I frequent, made me a killer offer on the f2.8, and I had been planning to do some indoors events. The indoor events gig did not happen, but I have all scenarios covered. You cannot beat the portability and weight of the f4. The images are excellent.

I am a real estate and business photographer and am shooting with the 14-35, 35/1.8, 50/1.8 and 85/1.2 for a while now. I sometimes missed something flexible in the midrange (longer than the 35) for real estate and travels. At first I was thinking about the 70-200/4.0. I sold my 2.8EFII last year because I didn't use it often enough. But then I realised that the 24-105/4 would make the most sense. So I just got that lens last week. Surprised how much zoom 4.4x is. It is awesome how flexible it is. 105 is long enough for me so I don't think I would need a 70-200 anytime soon.

I've been thinking about using the 24-105 on the long end with some larger land shoots to get that unique compressed look into my real estate photos. I typpically don't shoot longer than 35mm, but 70-105 would look pretty epic stopped down too f11.

Great review. I can testify that the 14-35 is a great lens. I mainly use it to record my daughter’s volleyball games.

I use it every day for real estate. Versatile, light and sharp.

@@JaredHoyman I’ve only used it a few times for photography, but it’s definitely a sharp lens. I wish I had it during my urban exploring photography days haha.

I’m trying to learn video on my canon now. Really enjoy what you’re doing Jared and a little bit jealous of the snow at Christmas’s. We’re expecting 38c or over 100F in your language. Thnx

I’m running the RF 15-35 F2.8, RF24-105 F2.8 and RF100-400 F5.6-8.0 with the R5 MK2. Perfect for anything and everything video and photo. I use the 24-105 F2.8 90% of the time though.

Thank you for the video. I’m a stills shooter but have actually considered downgrading my L lens holy trinity of the 15-35/2.8L, 24-70/2.8L, and 70-200/2.8L to the f/4 family to lighten the load. Is it worth doing? What are your thought? Take care.
@JaredHoyman15 күн бұрын
I have the f4 trio and 15-35 f2.8 & 24-70 f2.8. I use my 15-35 on my r7 for talking heads and 24-70 only for specific shoots. Otherwise my f4 gets used the most. I don’t feel a need or a desire for the 70-200 2.8. The f4 is so light and small it works great for me. Everyone is different so I can’t tell you what you should buy. I would find out what lenses you use the least and maybe get the or rent the f4 and see if it fits your needs just fine before dumping the 2.8 version.

Maybe Canon needs to stop messing around, and allow MORE third parties to produce affordable lenses. RF mount came out in 2018 and we barely have 3 lenses (Auto focus) from Sigma since then?? Well damned!
@JaredHoyman18 күн бұрын
My theory is canon is waiting to complete their line up and then open it all up. Not much different than pharmaceutical companies after they produce a new drug. Patent opens up after 10yrs. I bet sigma and tamron have RF lenses all ready. They are just waiting for the nod from canon.
