I have this camera and the correct wifi connection, but sometimes it is searching forever, and then said "device" not found. I would prefer to have a cable connection as an option, but it is not included in the sales. I hope Canon will make both wifi and cable connection available in the future. Many of your costumers are not computer experts.

Okay have to say they told me how to fix it. And yes I now have a wifi connection. Thank you Canon and the employee that never gets credit for the fix. May you be blessed.

Why can't the cameras work just like the Eye-Fi cards from 10 years ago? Super simple. Turn on camera and any new photos copy to computer. Done. They even transferred as you took them if you were in Wi-Fi range. Yes there was some setup to be done but you only did it once. If the card was more than 2GB I'd still be using it. That said thankfully I found this video. Computer Engineer with 20+ years of experience (30+ with computers) and nothing made sense about getting this to work, it was like Canon was trying to force me to sign up for their online service I knew I didn't want.

Why would you use a different camera in your demo??? No Wifi Connection Setup app with the software downloaded. So pretty much stuck.

While the exact location of the Wi-Fi button may vary by model, what you see on the camera's screen in the video should match what you see on your PowerShot SX620 HS. The old image transfer software is outdated now. I downloaded the new one, but can't seem to transfer directly to computer through wi-fi without using the image sync feature.

and it does it, in image.canon you have the option to upload your photos directly to google photos, dirve, adove or your youtube chanel

technically, you could save it your device, then to google drive, and just delete it from your device. slightly complicated, probably faster than this feature if it existed

I have been at this for a couple of hours. Was finally able to download the photos I wanted but now I have no idea how to go about it the next time. I have a "Map" icon on my desktop which is of no use. When I try to use the Image Download Utility (under Canon Utilities) absolutely nothing happens. NOT HAPPY JAN.

This goes too fast ... I am having trouble with all the things I am told to do, I have to keep closing this window I am used to connecting with a USB... I am too old for this. I might just use card reader. I am going to try the support team when I get a chance. I am happy to see I am not the only one frustrated with this

I also tried but came to a stand still when I couldn't open the downloaded canon instruction, HOWEVER, if you take your memory card and pop it in your laptop you can transfer your photos that way!!

So helpful. I just followed the video, pausing to carry out the instructions, and tho some of the steps were different on my camera, somehow the photos transferred to my computer. Still prefer to plug in an SD card or transfer via USB. Oh well. New technology all the time.

@@CanonUSASupport No, it does not help because we know you have Canon Webcam Utility Software working for several years now for both EOS and PowerShot cameras, just not this cheaper but more popular model. It's not very plausible that this one would not be supportable in that software; the underlying tech is the same. It looks like a ploy to force people to buy a more expensive camera. Not going to work, since we can get a high-end webcam with built-in dual mics and light for much less than the price difference between the SX620 and the SX70 (which WUS supports, but which is excessively large to use as a webcam anyway).

Be very careful when you are searching the Start menu for the "Wi-Fi Connection Setup" app that you have the dash in the middle of "Wi-Fi". The start menu won't find it if you enter just "wifi" or "wireless".

Hi! Select PowerShot camera models can be used as a webcam via the free EOS Webcam Utility. Specifically, these are the PowerShot G7 X Mark III, the PowerShot G5 X Mark II, and the PowerShot SX70 HS. We're unable to ensure compatibility between the utility and other PowerShot camera models. You can learn more about EOS Webcam Utility at canon.us/2n5u7 Hope this helps!

NOT HAPPY - tried to follow instructions to download software but can't find it for my mac OS 10.11, I have a feeling they don't support a Mac desk top. This sucks!

That explains why it wouldn't install when I downloaded it. It would've been nice to know this in advance. I will update my OS and let you know how it will turn out.. Do I have to go through Canon iMage Gateway or will it download to my photo file directly? Thanks.

I was told by your customer service that it won't work on OS 10.13 either. Not right to offer a feature only to find out after the purchase the feature doesn't apply to your equipment. FYI 10 percent of the entire computer universe uses MAC.

Hi,Can the Camera SX620 be connected to more than one Computer? Ie I have a shop with 3 computers and i work on them all,I only as because another camera I was looking at (Sony) could only be registered to one computer (strange) Thanks

Have since bought the camera and can't connect to my pc, finds the router, and log's in fine, Then just won't find any pc, Have researched this, and seems to be a common problem with no solution? I am annoyed as bought this camera, for this reason, a lot of people say "just take out the memory card and out in your PC" I can do that with any camera! Hope you can help with this

Spent over 4 hours trying to setup this camera for WiFi. No USB cord provided so you are stuck. This youtube video is useless as their onscreen does not match my Windows 10 and it appears that you would have to be a software programmer to decipher the myriad of instructions. Why did you need to make a one touch camera so complicated and only suitable to a NASA engineer??? I was forewarned to stay away from Canon PowerShots for this very reason. Back to Hunt it goes.

I got the SX610. Yeah the wifi is impossible to set up. You do what the video says and the camera says look for the cloud symbol in the wifi menu. As far as I can tell there is no wifi menu. All my choices are either a cell phone or the computer symbol which if you pick that your back at the select the cloud symbol in the wifi menu. Vicious circle.

Hi Maury! There is another button on the back of the camera that open the Wi-Fi menu. Press the PLAYBACK button first, then press the UP button to open the Wi-Fi menu. The UP button will have a blue radio symbol on it. If any of your other computers are running Windows 10 and your PowerShot SX620 HS can work with them, you might want to see what's different between the working computers and the non-working computer and make adjustments as needed. this is annoyingly complicated, i wish they just made the canon camera connect app (the mobile one) available on pc, in the microsoft store or mac app store, as it is so much easier. of course, even that has its issues, for example, it takes judt under an hour to download 11 videos (10-20 secs each) and for some reason it even cancelled downloading the last one even though i didnt press anything (though this might be an issue with my wifi, not sure). i know its possible to change this, because i used to have an sd card to usb adapter thing, and i could use that to import images from my camera to my laptop really quickly, until i lost that and had to resort to trying other stuff

It would be easy for all of us if you just installed a USB connection so that we can plug-and-play immediately to our PCs/Apples etcetera. But this is beyond the limited commonsense and even more limited abilities of your boardroom-level techies: wealthy backgrounds not healthy talents got them their jobs. Technology should be progressive and make life easier, not unduly complicate things.

I have been at this for hours. Each time, I get a little farther along. Then the video fails to match my situation and I have to employ "guess and check" until something on my computer or camera happens to match. The camera interface designer should be forced to endure this sort of labyrinth to get lunch.

What a palaver, why not just have a usb cable connection. This takes ages when like me, you have several Canon cameras having to go through wifi setup with each. I end up removing the SD cards to transfer files and not WiFi. USB connection is far easier and faster.

This is the worst camera I have ever owned. What happened to jut plugging in the USB cable and it works, this wi-fi Cloud crap sucks. I have been trying to get this stupid thing to connect to my work network for 2 hours... If if plug in the camera it showed it their but it says it has no new photos. now I have incident photos that I need to get off and I cant. Cannon can Kiss my Ass.

If your computer is equipped with an SD card slot, you can eject the card from the camera and insert it into your computer's card slot. This will allow you to copy your photos onto your computer the same way you would copy files from a flash drive. If an SD card slot is not an option for you, you'll want to make sure your computer has the proper driver and software to talk to your PowerShot SX620 HS when you use your USB cable. I have a SX610 HS but no smartphone. I'm asking if I can remotely shoot videos with my laptop instead of a smartphone ( as I don't have one). The features say shoot remotely with smartphone but wondering if it's possible with a laptop? Although the app seems to be for android and ios so really don't know. Thanks..
