Canon Powershot SX740 SX730 Manual settings

This video is very great! I ordered the camera from the internet, brand new "open box," and it costed $305.00 (no shipping or tax). I think it's a very good low budget camera. I am not an experienced photographer, so I watched your video a few times and now I am understanding more and more. It also has that "self portrait" mode which it gives you a soft focus that almost looks like a more expensive camera! My wife is not too happy to be a model every 10 minutes, and she does not want me to go out to hunt for photos, but hey, life is not perfect! Thanks

Useful tip to set focus manually to infinity to capture the amazing shot of the moon, on such a compact cam no less!

Very nice video! I have the SX740HS and have been experimenting with all the control settings! This video is nice as it has SAVED ME SOME TIME TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ADJUSTMENTS DO! I just wish the manual was more clear on these adjustments!

Thank you, this is the first video that has been at all helpful to me. And I watched a lot! I make makeup videos and everytime I hold a product up to display it won't focus on the product, only my face. Maybe now I can figure it out.

I have the same problem with my fujifilm sl1000. I just ordered this x730, so this vid really helped! I just want to have a blurry background with myself or my products in focus. Now hopefully I can:) And I just subbed! Your videos are great and I really like your banner as well.

Great video. I just took this on vacation having bought it the night before I left, as I didn't want to take my SLR. I loved the zoom (pictures of an eagle)! I thought I read that it has an app that I can download and send pics automatically to my cell phone so I can share them easily. Thanks!

I will say I dislike the auto & program modes on these cameras (I’ve had the 720 and now 730). I use these camera mostly for convention and concert photography, so auto and program usually causes too much blur. I usually under expose my photos to -2 and change TV to 60 or more, usually between 120-300.

Hi you know what you are talking about. I have this model and am trying to use it with a scope cam for shooting. If I go over 40 times view it goes very blurred . I have tried a few settings but can't get it right. I have been told to put my scope down to the lowest magnification. Any advice would be helpful. If I just use the camera it works fine on auto up to maximum full zoom it focuses on auto.

I like manual mode. What is the lowest f stop and widest shooting lens? I'm trying to compare to my Canon 60 D that I sold. I was using a 50 mm lens with a f stop of 1.5 and a 70-200 mm lens. Just wanted to know if the camera has a wide angle and how good are the portrait shoots? Good review by the way.

Wide angle is 24MM equivalent on a 35mm. This is a point and shoot with a 24 to 1000 lensthat fists in your pocket and sells for $400 US. You are. You are not going to get interchangeable SLR lens performance out of it. Search for samples on line and see if it meets your standards. =Cosmo

I guess it depends on what you are comparing this camera to. It is good but not the top performer in low light.

It does have a "low light mode" but it probably does not work as an expensive camera. But if you use some light and do a little work later...maybe it could fake it nicely. Remember this is a $300.00 camera.

When on manual setting you'll click the middle button called 'func set'. And then you'll be able to scroll up to change the ISO
