Great couple of cameras to compare. I’m a huge Panasonic fan and can see here the canon result often looks better. The studio shot right at the start you can clearly see the canon is more pleasing. Then again that flower shot though, clearly Panny was better there. Ima fan of Panny because of all the very useful features; you can take a photo during video (doesn’t interrupt the video) and easily grab a frame of video later in camera and access an image: I find this VERY useful

I'm a huge Panny fan as well and I prefer the Panasonic because of the flexibility it provides. No one packs as many features into a camera than Panasonic as you mentioned. The Canon is nice for its simplicity though. Tough to go wrong with either of these for the price. Cheers and thanks for watching!

One thing I don't understand well is how they perform in terms of resistance to noise. I will use these camera in full manual. Imagine to shoot at a concert between the public, which of them has better resistance to noise and show less grain? (Suppose to use the same settings, e.g. T 1/200s F/5 ISO 3200)
@PhotoGearFun
@PhotoGearFun 5 жыл бұрын
They are very close to the same for low light noise performance. The Canon may have slightly better noise reduction applied to the video. They have the same size sensor. Neither of them are great in low light due to their sensor size. That being said they are both great in good light. Thanks for watching and commenting!

A1" sensor would be better in low light assuming it has a 1.8 aperture. I'm not sure if your budget is but the LX 100 is good in low light. I did a review on that on the channel. I would say though that the zs100 or zs200 would be better than the Zs70

Thanks so much. To me it boild down to do you want a camera that had lots of controls that is slightly complicated if so the Panasonic is a great choice. If you want very easy to use and less complicated the Canon is a good choice. Both take very good video and pictures for the price. The super zoom is amazing on both. Good luck in your quest.

@@BOOSTEDLASER sadly no point and shoot has anywhere near the stability of the Hero 8. That being said the Hero 8 may have the best stability to date. If you a looking to VLOG the Hero 8 may be your best best. I did find the stability on the ZS70 to be good enough for my use but that is subjective. Are you looking for a camera you can take both photos and videos with?
@BOOSTEDLASER
@BOOSTEDLASER 4 жыл бұрын
@@PhotoGearFun Yes pics and vid. I wonder why 100s of cams exist and NONE have even close to Gopro stabil technology. I dont need such a tough cam. If that DJI Pocket or KT Renouvou something had a 2.0 version that may work. Not for VLOG. I want like a Cannon ELF that can do HD or 4k with decent stabil tech. ODD that no MFG has this combo. I bet in 2-5 years ALL cams will have Gopro like stabil tech. I guess I could get a small point and shoot and use a gimbal. Most I have seen (not many) are so big and goofey. I need a small light one. Bleh

@@BOOSTEDLASER GoPro uses a clever combination of hardware and software to get their great stabilization and right now no camera has the software built in to compete with GoPro. I noticed on my zs70 the iintelligent auto seems to give less saturated 4k video. However when I use the P setting the video is more saturated. To me my 4k video from the zs70 looks really clear,detailed and colorful. Also it has a touchscreen and 4k photo options where you can pull out 8 megapixel photos from a 4k stream as well as stop motion and time lapse options. By the way I was thinking of getting the new Sony hx95 or 99 until I read the details on the Sony site and discovered they will limit 4k video on these new cameras to just 5 minutes!! I understand they do this on the Rx100 line including the latest ones. How come Panasonic can offer 15 minute 4k for at least a year already and Sony is still stuck at 5 minutes. ?? Can't t they redesign the sensor to avoid overheating? Based on my experience 5 minutes is quite impractical.
@PhotoGearFun
@PhotoGearFun 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and the thoughtful comment. I generally use my zs70 in manual mode for stills and video. I really love the video that comes from it with a little bit of in camera and post processing tweaking. The only real complaint I have is the auto focus. I have 4 Panasonic cameras and the AF is pretty bad on all of them. All of the other features more than make up for that though. I am impressed with the Canon it does have a 5 minute 4k limit as well so you will have to be careful there for my use though that is OK. I looked at the new Sony hx95 as well but I'm not sure when it if it's coming to the US.

I think f/8 is the limit on the Canon and the Panasonic. The good news is that if you shoot in a manual mode you can control the flash output on the Panasonic. It's on page 5 of the camera menu. Just lower the flash output and you should be ok. Also the auto mode in the Panasonic may do a better job than the Canon give that a shot first. Hope this helps! Cheers.

" No manual video mode and No raw photo support" in the Canon device What are the consequences?
@PhotoGearFun
@PhotoGearFun 5 жыл бұрын
Hello. For the video it just means that there are certain settings that you don't have control over like frame rate, shutter, speed, and aperture setting. For photos RAW is a format you can use to get the most data from a picture. A RAW photo captures all of the data without compression and will require editing after you take the shot. This camera only has .jpg which is a compressed (less data) file that is basically edited by the camera automatically. I hope this help. Thanks for watching.
