nice video! I was thinking of new TM 5250 as 24" for canvas printing, Is it better? It used 5 pigment inks technology but will the quality remain same

The Canon PRO-2100 has 12 inks so if you're looking to produce photographic canvas prints, having more colours will give you much better quality in terms of colour accuracy. The TM 5250 is more suited to CAD drawings

This was very informative, thank you. I have a question: I want to print on canvas not larger than 60x80 cm. The potential problem is that, If I want a frame I would need to have perhaps a 10 centimeter margin on all sides, which would mean that I would need a printer that can print out 70x90 cm. Does this mean I would have to buy the Canon Pro-4100 (44") rather than the Canon Pro-2100 (24")?

Glad to have helped! Yes that's right, for a canvas size larger than 24" (60cm) you would need to step up to the 4100

Great video, thank you for taking the time to create it. We have a little issue with our pro2100 , the colours are faded and we're not sure what's causing it. We didn't change the settings, but we put a different batch of paper in the past 3-4 days. It worked fine until yesterday when all of a sudden the prints are coming out with faded colours. Any advice or ideas what it could cause this issue? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for this video. I am not dedicated to fine art printing. But I do sell photographs, currently printed on a canon tm200. If I switch to using this plotter, will the cost of each print remain competitive or does the fact of having 12 inks make it more expensive? Thank you

Thanks for your comment! The amount of ink used to produce a print of the same size on any Canon wide format printer will be the same across a spread of colours. Therefore, it does not cost any more to run a 12 ink printer against an 8 ink one or similar. If you'd like more information on the PRO-2100 don't hesitate to get in touch

Its 60cm wide,but what about long ? If we put canvas roll it can go like as long as the canvas is or there is limit ? Does it use same amount of ink at paper vs canvas ? Thank you

If you're printing on a roll then you can create a print that is as long as you'd like it to be. Paper and canvas will use a similar amount of ink depending on the quality settings you use

Im guessing that with that line of printers, youve got individual tanks for each color. Yes? So you can use an afternarket ink to refill those or from Cannon? If i can get that in up to a 60 inch format? That would be nice. 😊 The ink refill on that as im seeing it might be a better solution than HP for what im wanting to do.

(New to large format printing) Canon Pro 4100 : OK I downloaded the Hahnemühle ICC profiles I need and set one for printing. The part I don't understand is, I can not see the Hahnemühle paper type in the paper list? How does this work, do I need to also download paper types from somewhere or?

Unfortunately we can't help you with Hahnemühle ICC profiles, but you won't need to download anything else other than the profile. You must select a media type which correlates to the paper you are printing on

As long as the material is inkjet compatible you'll be able to print on it using the Canon PRO-2100

The Canon PRO-2100 can take up to 24" wide rolls, they tend to come in standard lengths any of which will be fine on this printer

Are the print costs comparable to having labs print, how many A2 would you get from 160ml 12 tank system on average. Considering the 700ml are £3300 for the set. is it cost effective

Hi Phil, the higher the capacity inks you purchase the better the overall cost. 160ml inks at the time of writing this are c. £70ex vat each giving a rough cost of £0.44 per ml. the 330ml carts are currently £122 ex vat each giving a rough cost per ml cost of £0.37 per ml. The 700ml inks work out even cheaper although as you say this is a large upfront cost for a full set. How does this compare to having a lab print, well doing it yourself should be cheaper. It is important to note however that you must factor in the expertise of the lab which naturally forms a part of their charges and they will also charge you only for the media you use rather than you as an individual having to commit to buying multiple rolls of paper. We can't provide a figure for how many A2 prints you would get from a set of 160ml carts. This would depend on many variable factors such as the image used, which in turn would dictate coverage of ink on paper etc. Suffice it to say unless an occasional printer most tend to buy the 330ml carts as a happy medium between upfront cost and on-going running costs.
