How long does it take til it runs out of ink.. will it last a decent amount of time if you print out samples til you get the hang out of it

Hard to determine that since I don't print on it often. But I do feel like Canon inks/printers go a very long way compared to Epson.

Hello Sian, (New to large format printing) Canon Pro 4100 : OK I downloaded the Hahnemühle ICC profiles I need and set one for printing. The part I don't understand is, I can not see the Hahnemühle paper type in the paper list? How does this work, do I need to also download paper types from somewhere or?

I'm not sure how to go about adding other paper formats. I only used the Canon papers.

Is the canon ijm417 canvas good ?

Is that paper? I tried canvas paper before and its cool. Just check is the paper is warm or cool as it might affect your prints.

Hi Sian, really thanks for the video. Would it be possible to confirm one thing for me? Since you've purchased the printer, you've been using the initial ink that comes with the printer. Am I right? Id like to confirm if its mandatory to purchase additional ink after the first initialization.

Thanks for your comment. The printer does come with starter ink and it is not mandatory to buy additional ink. However, the starter ink is like a quarter of ink and I do recommend to buy replacement ink soon. Although that starter ink did last me a good while.

@@SDLartsandcrafts Hi, thanks for your reply! This is me again, 4 months later.. I just had the same ink warning as you did in the video (same cartridge LOL). It also shows that the level is more than half.. how did you manage this point? Was there still a lot of room for printing other images? The reason I'm asking is because i'm not really sure about how to trust this measurament system.. I mean, it doesn't show exactly how many mililiters there is in each cartridge.. just this rough image

How do you print sheets like A5 A4 A3, where is the loader?

Oh to load single sheets you need to open the print head and shove it in here. Only did it a few times because I had sample paper. I mostly printed from the roll.

Hey, sis. How's it going? I would like to ask you if the new ink you bought last more than the one that comes with the printer. Cause I spent just like 22ml of this same that runned out to you and it started to give me the heads up for changing. And it suposed to have 170ml of ink on it. So, really wierd. Thanks in advance!

Hey! Thanks for the comment. Yeah initially when you buy the printer it comes with like quarter of the ink. Which lasted me quite a while. The new ink I bought...well I'm sure would last me most of the year. But I didn't print much. Also I moved countries. So currently not using the printer 😅. Anyway, thanks for leaving a comment. Thank you for this. Question, how pronounced is that paper curl when your print comes out of the printer? I'm wanting to upgrade to this printer, but I like to ship my prints flat without a frame, using 258gsm weighted paper. I'm just concerned about keeping the print as flat as possible since this printer is meant for roll paper. Thanks

Thanks for leaving a comment. As far as the paper curl. The heavier the paper weight the harder it might be. When I sell my prints I put them in a matte frame. So it doesn't cause me issues. But if you just sell the print with no frame, you might have to do more to get it flat. I hope this answer helps.

I can't imagine why I wouldnt be able to handle vinyl for stickers. Atho this is a big printer, I wouldnt use it for stickers unless you're going to print a lot.

Hello,everytime I start the 4000S,it shows"wait until the system has been filled with ink".Is this normal?does it already cost some ink though I dont print anything?thanks for any idea.

Hey thanks for the comment. Since I don't have the 4000s I don't know if that's a common issue. I can say that I haven't seen that on my printer. Hope that helps.

What kind of paper did you buy? The one on the roll or individual sheets? I'm assuming it's not Canon paper also?

I think you would most definitely benefit from watching Jose Rodriguez he has an awesome amazing fantastic KZbin channel where he teaches how to reload your canon ink cartridges yourself with an ink that is very close to Canon OEM ink from a company name precision colors. I’ve use the ink from precision colors and I never had any problems with the ink when printing from my Canon pro 100. Now I seriously wanna upgrade to this massive printer also.
